I have been thinking lately to get into the oilfield driving. The only endorsement i have is T do i need to get a tanker or hazmat for this. I was thinking the sand or rock or frac or mabye water but i think the water needs a tanker. I can go anywhere so location is no issue. If you can suggest a good company that would also be appreciated. I am currently outside the USA on vacation. Will need a job when i return in a few months. I was also told this industry can make some money quick and it is ebb and flow this may work since i spend a good amount of time outside the usa with family.

tanker and hazmat are good to have if seeking oilfield work, a lot of hauling in the fields requires one or both. even a lot of company's that haul sand or gravel like to see you have the endorsements as they may have trucks that haul other things in the oil fields that require the endorsements. there are jobs you don't need them but i would suggest getting them first as it will expand your opportunity's.

If you love driving then stay clear away from Halliburton and other fracing / coil tubing etc, as they spend most time on location and only drive trucks to and from the jobs, IMO most varied work is running winch truck for oilfield production services a really good company I used to work for
Mitchell's Oilfield Services has locations
Sidney MT, Watford City & Killdeer ND, there many others, Petroleum Services, Wisco, Basin, etc
Being in the right place at the right "luck" has a lot to do with getting a chance, it's a pretty small world as everyone will tell you and once you've been in the oilfield it's easy to get a good or bad reputation.
one bad company that will give a newbie a chance but has little work for a good reason but on the flip side you will get that vital Work Experience is TForce Energy Services. They used to Speedy HH that's when I worked for them in 2010 then in 2011 bought out by Transforce Canada and merged with Hemphill Trucking became Hemphill-Speedy still a good company then the death nail, bought out IE Miller then merged all 3 Co's summer 2012 that when I & 10 other senior / experienced drivers left and the downward spiral took place, but you can get that experience that is so vitalAttached Files:
