I see more and more people , and its not always the young kids . Texting while driving and talking on the phone. If your doing it , not only is it against the law but your endangering everyone else that surrounds you . So many times I have to pass other trucks as they are going well under the speed limit and when passing I do a fast glance only to see them texting . You have many factors against you while driving a truck so why put yourself and others at risk ? And in case you don't know the law you must have a bluetooth when using a cell phone , but that does not mean to use it all the time lally gagging on it either!

People drive like idiots on that road, which is why I usually follow the state highway through town instead of taking the county line road up past the mine...and in the propane tanker's defense, the coal bucket was turning into a rarely used gate at the mine. Most of the trucks hauling coal out of the mine enter/exit the road about a mile or so north of where the wreck occurred, so if the tanker yanker was familiar with the area, he probably wasn't expecting the truck ahead of him to stop to make that left at that gate. From what I've heard, though, the dump bucket was hauling into the mine and needed to use that other gate. Doesn't take much...split second of inattention and things can get ugly in a hurry.

News did have some pretty spectacular images though...

Problem is , people are in a hurry today . Knock on wood I always keep my distance at all times . I am not in such a hurry I endanger anyone or myself, of course I cannot avoid someone who has a need to cut me off and put on their brakes . Some people do this just for fun. Alot of idiots out there , one needs to be wary . Be safe everyone .

Complacency is the enemy of safety.

As for the post of the driver who rear-ended the two cars and the semi in Missouri. I hope he gets sent away for a long time. Two people lost their lives because of your inability to do your job properly and legally. And, I hope his company is in big trouble for letting him drive if this wasn't the first time they knew he eclipsed the 70hr rule.
