He can't reach the steering wheel either and does'nt know why he had heart attack.... I hauled them all ways and just used every strap and chain I had. Never had one move. Look at my pic.

Yeah, and I wonder why you see these van with the bowed out walls?
-
It does not bother me to load either way. I do prefer shotgun, as I feel safer in case I have to lock it down. -
??????
Are they enforcing this with citations? -
Horseshoe chaining prevents the coil from telescoping. Your thicker gauge coils may not telescope easily, but your thinner guage will. The only different thing you have to do is put extra chain protectors on the outside edge of the coil for where the chain is going to be pulled into the horseshoe shape. Nothing difficult.
Heysunshine, CAXPT and SGTSmokdU Thank this. -
Second hand reports of Illinois troopers in the area of Granite City on I-270 checking coil loads. Just Warnings at that time. -
I believe this to be a false idea, as a horseshoe chain will not stop a coil from telescoping. It will reduce the potential of it happening, but will not stop it. A horseshoe chain is not cinched to its self, (like banding would be) a chain is flexible, as the coil would move so will the chain. Banding and blocking are the only methods I know of to prevent telescoping.amscontr and MichianaFlat Thank this. -
I guess I should clarify, ALL horseshoe or just to have 2 chains that way? (one each side) Putting chains on in that method cuts the WWL in half. -
I prefer hauling coils suicide, but I don't mind shotgun eye to the back homocide whichever you like. Personally I chain them through the belly with a chain for whatever the chain to weight ratio is then I plus 1 or 2 and then tarp

Here's my homocide for Monday
The Challenger Thanks this.
