The stock market is currently the Federal Reserve's dumping ground. If the dollar crashes, the stocks go with it. Having a $50k truck, free and clear, along with some precious metals, is the smart thing to do, IMO.
Buy stocks? Not on your life.
I have 82,000 cash. What would you do?

And that is my delima. i have no clue how markets work, or whats good and whats not. i bought this because my grandfather suggested it as he was also buying some. He has a LOT of silver and gold bullion that he has been collecting since he got out of the war. Every birthday he always gave me a 1oz silver piece for my b-day.

Buy the truck as you would not have asked if you did not wish too and than lease on with SNI and do what you are doing now but with more money coming in and a little more control. Alot easier to do now that you have many debts taken care of, less risk involved though there is still some. Of course it is your call. If you are goin got invest; get a 30 year treasury bond at 3.5%, pays you everyy 6 months, state tax free and at the end of 30 years, you still have your original investment. Take your check every 6 months and save it in another fund, does not sound like much but it is risk free and will add up for retirement. Your call...

Well here is what I figure ..We cant print money like has been done and the dollar not lose its value ... silver junk coins are a hedge against the dollar collapsing . which just might happen if we lose your status as the worlds currency.. Which I think is possiable in the not so distant future. IMHO

I put off going into business for myself for years and wish I hadn't. It has more headaches than any job I've ever had, but the personal satisfaction is worth it. If you want to own your own, then I would advise to jump in and do it. I would like to add, talk to some small companies about contracting with them. In other words, do some legwork and find some work first and don't buy the most expensive truck you can find. I would not do a lease purchase with anyone. There are other options too. Keep your job for the health insurance, buy a truck and hire a driver. If it doesn't work out, sell the truck. Just my opinion. Good luck with whatever you choose.

i say take a week off work and take a small vacation. think about life and what you want out of life when you retire. i really doubt there will be any social security money left to pay anyone. that is something to think about. consult with a financial adviser. i would bank at least 80 percent of it in some sort of fund that would make you money in addition to the good paycheck you are getting now. take the other portion and you have some emergency funds or mad cash if you desired.
if you re happy with how you are going now, screw buying a truck. all it takes is a bad run of luck such as an engine blowing up and destroying the block, then your out well over 10 grand, probably close to 15. its the major repairs that get you on the trucks. that is why all the big places trade them off at or around 500 to 600k miles. they dont have to worry about an out of warranty catastrophic failure. the truck is gone.
the small company i drive for does ok. they dont have a load of cash flying everywhere, but we get paid and get fuel and get repairs done when needed with no hassle. that being said, in the last 2 months, the used 99 volvo they bought last year has gotten in to the pockets deep.
here is the small list of parts replaced in the last 3 months alone:
all 6 injectors, the entire driveshaft (it flew apart at 70 mph), the radiator fan cracked and flung 2 blades through the radiator and the evap core and the intercooler and had to be towed from charlotte to chattanooga, the turbo locked up and had to be replaced, the entire rear braking system from the lugs to the air lines, the exhaust pipe from the turbo wastegate to the exhaust stack in the back, and now they are chasing a bug in the electrical harness that has the truck running on half the injectors at a completely random interval.
it can add up faster than you realize.
oh, and i would buy the biggest and baddest ### CB radio on the planet, but that is just me

Go to a local casino and put it all on red. Or go to a country where a dollar still is worth something , rent out your house, and live an American dream abroad. Vacation forever.
