Not sure on dd16 but i have heard some horrer stories on the dd15 if it was me id do a glider w a ddec4 or a ddec5 with a egr turbo delete , unless u want to be in the garage . Company that i used to work for has a new cummins has 150,000 on it now and is just starting to give them fits they was forced into it because of one of their accert petes cought fire and was totaled. Do you have a tractor and trailer or a tri-axle!

We have a few local loggers running the DD16s and they like them a lot, some used also in gravel trucks as well, all are tri drives, and pull 144,000 lbs up and down mountains.
We also have lots of guys running highway with DD15s, and have minimal problems.
Grump he is in Canada he can not run an older engine in a newer frame, you can upgrade an older truck, you can not use an older EPA rated engine in a newer one. -
thanks road train are the dd16 any better on fuel then cummins on the same haul or not

Im not in Canada Im in Pennsylvania and yes you can build a glider with a older emission engine for how long that's to be seen!

I didn't read that rite i see he is in Canada ! I sorry bout that !

You can get a Western Star POWERED glider with a huge selection of engines to choose from. Just get a rebuilt (or new) trans and rears the rest is turnkey. The WS dealer in North Jackson Ohio is doing a lot of them.
