Truck averages 5.75 last week bucking winds most of the time usually averages about 6.5. I don't have trouble making ends meat. And I don't run the truck over 70 very often. Pathetic thing is my 5.5-6mpg is at 70 bucking wind in a hood while your 6.5 is at 62 in an aero. And I'm at the top of the hill grossing heavier while your dropping gears struggling to pull it grossing lighter. Gotta love people that don't understand truck fuel economy. Us high HP guys will usually beat lower HP guys in the long run when it comes to fuel specially in the mountains or rolling hills.

Oh disregard that stuff I said just read your from new York that explains your comment:biggrin_2559: figured god would've pulled the handle by now and flushed everything north of P.A. by now. Guess its such a bit turd the toilet got clogged.

I worked there for 8 months. Crete is not owned by Crete, it is owned by Duane Acklie, who is the owner of Crete. They do have training and 2 trainers that you are sent with if you do not have enough experience. Their rates are actually high, and they are not the major carrier for Valmont, FCC is, and Tennant is the one who cuts the rates on all the ag loads. They hall all kinds of freight, on all types of trailers. They are a good company, but I needed to be home more than once a month. They also do a lot of drop and hook, so you can keep moving.

Thanks IA Sooner. I see you live in IA and only got home once a month. I live in Arizona, what do you think hometime would be like for me? I have heard they will not let you be home more then 4 days at a time no matter how long your out. Any truth there?

It doesn't matter where you live, they always seemed to play games when it was time to go home. They only will let you off for 4 days without getting approval from the big wigs.

    GLN76 Thanks this.

I have to disagree when it comes to Hunt and rates. We share two different national accounts. On several occasions I have learned their rate and every time it was low. One of the customers actually chooses not to use them because of poor service/problems despite their low rates. I don't know what your options are in Phoenix, but I would keep looking.

Apreciate the info. Dont think I'll be going with them based on the hometime policy. I dont mind being out for 2 months at a time but I enjoy a good 7 days off after that.
Not to many options out here unless you enjoy running up and down I-5 all the time. I have been considering Sammons L/P. From other threads they seem ok.

I personally was never late or ever had a claim on any piece of machinery that I have hauled, not saying that anyone else did.

GLN76, to be honest if I were you and lived in Phoenix, I would either get in with one of the rental places (CAT, Volvo, RSC, Sunbelt) or I would go run a tanker. There is a lot of tanker work between Los Angeles and Phoenix and Houston. I have a friend who lives in Vegas and run from Vegas to Houston, to Phoenix and back home every week. He loves it and pulls for Dana
