Any carb-legal COE tractors?

    I've seen a handful of 2007 Argosy ads online, but none mention carb compliance. Was it an option that year? I see you can get a new Argosy in AU with a DD15 -- would it be possible to register one in the US before it ships out (I realize its rhd)?

    Can you still get Argosy gliders? If so, can you spec them with a 2010+ engine?


    From the research I've done, it seems like dpf retrofits are a bad idea on any platform, so my only other Carb-legal option option would be running a 1994-1995 coe until 2016, or converting an existing coe to a 2010+ engine...

    I have not seen any. Remember, I think the Aussie DD15 may have different emission requirements than over here...Consider a retrofit, might cost 20-40k but cheaper than a new truck.

    we are on epa07/euro 5 requirements here. The dd15 is the egr+dpf version, as is the cummins. They have, however, started selling the epa2010 cummins running straight scr (the ISXe5), in an attempt to claw back customers from the mp10 (pretty much a euro 5 d16 Volvo)

    Non DEF DD15 is Euro4.

    EPA07 engines will have to have a DPF filter installed by January 2014 (I believe) to be CARB compliant going forward. The price for this has been coming down, but one should be careful that the installation is approved by CARB.

    You're right! EPA04 is the disaster known as lots of EGR that needs a DPF to choke it to death. Mea culpa.

    really it is possible to fit any EPA2012 ore Euro-5/6 engine in any new cabover. All European cabovers made in 2012 are with DEF and other emission stuff.

    The "new" facelift on the Argosy was partly done so they could increase the grill size in order to fit higher capacity cooling needed for newer generation emission compliant engines.
