That is sorta of funny! We were just on HWY 97 (?) through MT Shasta last week and it was really icy. There was a Knight truck that had slid all the way off the road on a hill and had a tree smashed right through the center of the tractor.
It didnt look as though he was going slow at all...
My trainer kept telling me after that to speed up....

Hey Sassy! Any word on anything? You have an appt tomorrow about $ for school right? My fingers are crossed for you!!!!!!!
-
Thanks Globetrotter. Please pray for us. I will let you know the minute we get home what the news is.
-
My fingers are crossed, also! Good luck!
-
Good luck, Sassy. You're in my thoughts as well.

but we are not eligible for the grants or assistance. We would have to have made less than $13,960 for the whole year as a family of 2, or we would both have to on unemployment.
Hubby is eligible to get his Indian card and we were told that there might assistance that way, but it is another long shot. First off his mother has to get all the paperwork together to file for his Indian rights and good luck on that one! She has been saying she was doing that now for a while.
Guess we are back to waiting on IDC or going with another company! -
I'm sorry that avenue didn't work out for you, Sassy. But, that's just one....don't give up. Any ol' saying I come up with right now is going to sound corny, so I won't....but they're all true. You know what I mean?
-
LOL I do know what you mean and you are right! I emailed Patti this morning and she finally got back to me. She said that right now they are working as hard as they can to get through everyone's files and to make sure they are training properly. Who knows, maybe IDC will come through in the end. I think we are going to try and hold off a little longer and just pray that we can still go with IDC. I just shudder thinking of going with someone else at this point.

Well today we finally got some more news. Jeremiah (my hubby) had finally decided that he has had it with not hearing anything more from IDC. (I have been emailing back and forth with Patti the last few days and she keeps dodging my questions). So, today Jeremiah calls and talks to Steve. He told Steve "Look man, I just want some honest answers here. We got screwed over by this and already put out $200 bucks for sitting fees that we aren't going to see back and I am sitting here without work. We just want to know if we should wait this out or go somewhere else." So Steve told Jeremiah that honestly he thinks we should go with another company. He said that it looks like they probably will not bring back the program and that we should definitely not wait. He empahsized do not wait, go elsewhere and when you have some experience then come back here and you will be hired. Jeremiah asked him what if we go to school on our own? He said same thing, go with another company and then come back when you have experience.
Of course we are saddened by this news, but at the same time we are very glad someone there finally had the guts to tell it to us straight. That is all we really wanted, an honest answer.
So, we have contacted Covenant and they will train us together but they don't have a sponsored school. We are talking with Roadmaster because they will finance their school but our credit sucks so we have had to get a co-signer. Jeremiah's grandmother said she will co-sign but she was sick today and couldn't talk to the lady at Roadmaster. Hopefully, we will know more tomorrow. Roadmaster has a school in San Antonio so we would have to drive down there and pay for our hotel. The lady said that they will try and get the cost for the hotel put into the loan but that is no guarantee.
I will keep you all updated. And on top of all this I am still sick and feel like crap!
