What type of of qualifying experience would be needed for this type of truck driving job?

What would be the approximate pay scale and benefits package of a truck driver who hauls steel as noted in this thread?

Also, are these truck drivers union or non-union workers? If they are union workers, would it be the Teamsters or a different labor union representing them?

Because the op said he did over a million in 300 miles .... that I don't feel is doable (as I broke down earlier)

My post had nothing to do with him or you and what he may or may not do , I posted that 520,000 was doable as I do it quite often on a local contract we cover.

Dollars on the deck per week minus fuel costs. That's the number that matters.

Usually, the least amount of weight the better that number is.

    Just saying....

I didnt know this was going to be a ##### size comparison. But yeah I can show yah the bills. I ran 5 loads a day, sometimes six, 6 days a week.

I have seen guys who run 30 000 000lbs from plant to port every week.
    Haul distance 350 miles.
    Team drivers.
Oh almost forgot to mention they drive a 100 wagon freight train.

Cool I believe that but what is impressive about driving across the street ... Because that is the only way you did it in 300 or less

    math time AGAIN

6 days 300 miles is 50 miles per day which is 10 miles per load which is 5 miles one way .....

Now if any Rock Buckets get in on this action we're really gonna see some number flying around here. I'm sure I did more than 300 miles a week back then, but the gross was twice the OP's number. But God knows that was some boring crap and the money sucked too!
