I drive a concrete truck and I'm getting ready to go to school to get my class a, so I haven't drove otr yet but I'm going with flatbed. Every job I've had I've been around trucks, reefers, dry van, flatbed. I guess it's just a preference.

i work for Central Refer and so far have not had any poblems with them. they get me home on time if not early without problems. they have very good equipment volvo 670,W900 and the T2000s and now their getting the new volvos the only problem with them i have seen so far is th lack of trailers I have spent up to and hour looking for and empty

Marten, KLLM, Central, seem to have good reputation out on the road.

Don't blame crappy recievers on reefer freight. I have had good and bad hauling dry box and reefer's both. I even do drop and hooks with reefer freight. My big gripe is with other drivers leaving you a reefer that hasn't been fueled or cleaned out prior to dropping.
-
Man,that would be a hassle, not to mention a time robber. -
Get ready to deal with it KAY.
I have been when them a while now, and it happens allot. Quite often the only empty for 100 miles has a few stacks of pallets in the back and was used on a meat load, so it stinks like hell.
Central has some good drivers, but it has its share of bad ones as well.
All I can say is to try and find somewhere to ditch the pallets and get a washout.
I do allot of dry freight for them as well as refregerated. They can keep you loaded most of the time if your communication is good and you should average 3000++ miles a week. If you dont get this average for several weeks in a row you may want a new driver manager, or find out what you did to get on the lazy driver list.
Good luck. -
The time I had wasted and the hassle of running refer freight, does not even compare with running dry box IMO.
Anyone who started out running refers like I did will see a big difference when they get away from running those refer receiver storage boxes they hauled.
I had to slap myself for ever doing it after I went back to dry. -
To each his own. I started dry box and went reefer. Don't find much difference except for the .02 more a mile I make hauling the reefer.
-
I started on a reefer, the only time i REALLY hated it was hauling seafood, man that trailer was nasty after that. I just applied with Prime in the their reefer div.

Hi Redwolf

Could you tell me more about "brokers" as it pertains to Roehl Refrigerated? I'm currently hauling reefers for them and have had to sit too much for financial comfort, but all in all I enjoy being a part of the reefer world.
I'm also EvoIII right now, perhaps that's a part of it.
Thanks!
