bite it and take a cheap load out of there to somewhere that has better paying loads or eat the fuel and dead head to a better one..... Sometimes you just gotta bend over and take it.... Lol

Yea I am leaning towards deadheading out. If I am going to take a lost why should i let the brokers win by me taking their crazy cheap loads and putting even more wear on my truck. I just cant believe i am stuck here. Been here so many times and always had good loads out now not even a so so load out. oh well....try again in the morning for here and start looking else where for a good one to deadhead to.....

Put it in the wind. No cheap freight.
We unlded. Thurs in Oklahoma city. Allready had a ld. booked for this Thurs. in Oh. so I needed a ld. that way.
Mobile rings. They are lding. Monday now. Ok.. Call on some lds. way to cheap to do. One would of put me within 60 miles of my pick up.
My wife say a tank and a half of fuel we can be there. In the wind we go.
Sunday we get a text msg. Lds. on hold untill Thurs now.:biggrin_25510:

####, then get the email they are paying us to sit here and wait..:smt023
So call your agents and pre book a ld. in your good freight lanes and head on out..

You haul at .75/mile now, then next time they'll bid it out at .65/mile. That's how cheap freight works from what I can see.

Makes me glad I never went O/O.....

Me? I would have D/H out to better area before I touch a cheap freight load. Just my penny in the hat. Be safe out there drivers.

You should be able to load pipe out of Tulsa...get east to St. Louis from there get to Chicago call Bill in Gary, if you take a load to Louisville call Michelle in Ghent ... Piece of advise .... You losing money if you don't stay within the system Kaplan has set up ... Its not Landstar or Mercer amd not designed to work that way ... If you want to work with brokers get your own authority ... Kaplan agents are horrible for the most part but they know their areas and specialize in the Ohio, Michigan, IN, IL, KY,PA, TN area...you get out of that area you are giving away money .... AND your limited unless you break that kit down ...

Garrett trucking in Houston has a brokerage that should be able to hook u up out of Tulsa ... I THINK ... As far as a number you will have to wait until I get to the truck in the am

How are the brokers going to win, by you deadheading out? They are going to move the loads, whether you take one or not. Take the best paying, shortest distance, easiest load you can and at least cover some of your costs, which will raise your bottom line, overall.

thats why i got out of o/o in mid 80's , friggin freight rates were dropping to .75 and.85 no sense buying a load..... And fuel was a high o $1.06 back then, now look at it...

I personally wont pull a cheap load. I'll bounce before I haul for a lot more than the rates you quoted! If the loads move today, they will be the same rate or cheaper next time. Let them sit until they get the hint IMHO.
As far as this being a reason to not be an O/O, this is the exception not the rule in my experience. Even bouncing out of dead or cheapo areas, I make a very good living with my own truck.
