Looking for mentor

Hello,
I am looking for a OTR mentor in local area (Portland, OR/ Vancouver, WA). My dream is to be owner operator of fancy new Pete someday and run under my own authority-or maybe a lease on to someone like Transtar? I will have most all debts paid off in about 4-5 years (vehicles/home etc.) My son wil be out of home by then or at least in college...or paying rent! I thought it would be a great "retirement job" Anyone with some direction? A "ride along" would be fantastic!...maybe would help see what is really involved. The driving part is not so much the issue. Its the rest of the finding loads and all the business stuff I am researching. Figure I have time to learn as I go till I am ready to make the leap. Other basic info: 43 year old male. Hapily married 21yrs to very supporting wife. I am a gear head! love hot rods and all things that make noise or smoke!
currently have class Bw/air CDL and perfect driving record and working on getting A.
