I guess that you love me then. Im thrilled!
I have said it a hundred times, Stevens is good for somone that is just starting out. They have a good school and training program. When your done you will know how to drive a truck unless you or your trainer is a dufuss.
Now I was only with them for about 8 months until I found a job that I really do love. I just wasnt happy with the money nor was I happy running NE. I found a local/regional job where Im home most every night, just got into a brand new Pete 587 and make much more money than I was at Stevens.
As for your references about the Alliance program, its not for everyone. I know sme that have done very well with it and I know alot that have failed. You just have to know how to run a business and watch your fuel mileage. I knew that leasing wasnt for me so I stayed n the company side and happy that I did.
I love it when morons come in here and try to bash Stevens. Its a shame that you didnt make it through your training period and they are now trying to collect on a bad debt so now you come here.
BTW, the trucks are black now.

I don't know why any of you would go to this company. You must be on CRACK! Go to your local unemployment office and get the goverment to pay for your license. Then do your research and pick a company who actually pays you for your training. There are far better starter companies out there than Stevens.
-
Thanks for your input. We value your opinion in the highest regards.
-
The government doesn't pay for your license the Taxpayer does.
-
Most states governments are broke and the taxpayer funds you speak of are loooong gone.
I guess Im on crack because I have have been here almost 3 years now and love it.
They DONT call it owning a truck, they call it leasing a truck. Your the one using the wrong nomenclature.
And about your 62MPH comment ... so you think running faster = making more money. That just shows how inexperienced and ignorant of the industry that you are. The reason almost every carrier has slowed trucks down is to make more money. Running fast only sucks down more fuel. Educate yourself before you spew whats in your mind again.Voodoo Pyg, BurningintheValley, Bigdubber and 2 others Thank this. -
Umm, I still recieve letters from the Obama administration about funding to pay for a CDL license. Maybe your state is broke from the idiots you elected to waste money on nothing. I simply stated that you must be on crack to be employed with stevens. I guess some of you on this site are too stupid to see that! No wonder you went with stevens! Just like a couple of guys I spoke to that I saw at the TA last week who said they were happy that they were getting .17 a mile working for PAM. There again I guess some of you like working for free.
-
So, where did you start out?
-
The one that's cracking appear to be Mr. Snow (apparently he's already flying). Like many in society today...just give me, give me...it doesn't cost me a thing.
He wants a company to take unknown and untested individuals, invest time, money and resources to train, let them drive company rigs on top shape, allow them to drive at reckless speeds over 62mph with a 53 ft trailer filled with tens of thousands pounds of cargo costings hundreds of thousands of dollars and add to it a salary in the six digit range.
Who is smoking the crack pipe?
In case you never read about it, there is a thing called paying your dues. That takes time, toil, sweat, tears, blood and yes, at times poverty. Did Stevens started out with millions in the bank? No, like many, he was at the bottom. But he got over it...now you're whining 'coz they won't give the brass ring on the first day of training.
I know several owners that work for Stevens and started out at their Tech school. One is a fellow of Mexican ancestry that owns about 5 rigs now and pockets over a quarter million for himself a year after taxes and expenses...did i mentioned he owns his trucks?
The trouble with many in America today is that stopped having grit in their intestines and all they want is to whine(but lack the cojones to do something about their condition)Voodoo Pyg, Jb17, Bigdubber and 4 others Thank this. -
There will always be detractors of Stevens. Most have never applied much less worked for Stevens. They mouth the same tired platitudes they heard from a friend who had a cousin that knew someone at the 7-11 who heard from someone that read it somewhere.
Stevens is a great training company and for some of us a great home.
No company is for everyone.
As for speed? The basic law of physics denotes it takes more energy to accomodate acceleration (speed).
But there are the cowboys and super truckers that want to hand a brand new driver a wide open truck and send him down the road.
Yea...that's the ticket. Just what we need.
But I want to be kind to those supertruckers that know it all. After all, most of us weren't born with a shifter in one hand and a red bull in the other.Voodoo Pyg, msa, brown22607 and 4 others Thank this. -
This comment is 100% correct. I was lied to constantly. Nothing the recruiter told me was the truth.
