Chuck is right. Don't get us wrong GR, you did great, but your instructor did u wrong. If something would have happened, while your instructor would have been on the line, so would have u.
When I have a student on board the driving schedule goes like this. From day 1, 2 hours, day 2 4 huors, day 3, 6 hours, day 4 8 hours, day 5 10 hours, and then from then on the student mainly drives. Now that said, I am very flexible with students, if they feel they are not up to it the 1st week then I rework the schedule. I also don't let the students drive between 1-5 AM untill about week 3.
Also, student does 90% of the backing, and if I can find an hour during the day at a TS then we do backing practice for an hour.
Hope this helps u.

now before we get everyoone confused the prohibition of night driving is not in effect for PSD students. Because the instructor is awake and in the front seat PSD can drive night hours. Infact the program goal is to expose the student to nights, days, overnights, even weather. The midnight to 6am prohibition is for TNT as they will be alone. ALso note the prohibition is not "no driving during these hours" it is no triveing through these hours. for instance it is perfectly ok for a TNT to end shift at 0200. it is perfectly fine for TNT to start shift at 0400. it is not ok in the beginning to start shift at 2300 and end at 0800. just wanted to clear this up and this came stright out of Stan's mouth last week in my instructor class.

Chuck is very right and it is crazy he made you drive 11 first day. Remember that 3:30 meeting where Stan went over the Rules he said and always says to the instructors, "this is not super solo. run your truck as a solo truck." now I will admit that on our 4th day we were headed to FLA and if I got there early i could have dinner with the Wife and kids. So it was supposed to be his 8 hr day and I was going to run 3. I decided to run 4.5 hrs then his 8 so I could get to the house. But today he will drive 10 i will drive none (solo truck) tomorrow he will drive 8 and I will drive none.
one other minor thing for Chuck, The new PSD time sheet only has backing and PreTrip as they are now taking Drive time off the elogs. -
Drove another full day today with about 20 min to spare on my 11. My shoulders could sure use a good rub down!
I have concerns, but I'm getting the feeling this is not the appropriate venue to discuss concerns anymore. So, I'll be emailing certain members privately.
Overall, good day. I was less fatigued than a few days ago, but have concerns about why my shoulder muscles give in so early. -
That's a training format for success. Thx

Sounds like you'll be back to test next week if your getting that many hours in.
Only thing I don't like about the rigmaster, compared to thermoking/carrier Apu's, is it doesn't shut off automatically when you turn on the truck and will sometimes run when the truck is running if you don't turn it off manually. I do prefer the display unit on the rigmaster, and the thermometer is much more accurate and will actually keep your truck at the temp you set. -
My Instructor already had to have his Rigmaster completely rebuilt, and is truck is only 8 months old! Everything is new on it but the block! hehehe...

When you get cdl you will e asked to evaluate instructor. Be very forthcoming or they cant weed out the rough ones.

The thing is loud and unreliable. I'll move when a rigblaster parks next to me.
