There are a couple of states (forgot offhand) that have those signs that light up when the truck passes that say "Truck Must Exit" but also have Pre-pass. Whats the rule when the Pre-Pass beeps and light green but when approaching scale exit the sign lights up and says "TRUCK MUST EXIT". Which is correct?! Pre-pass or the on the ground sign.

PrePass takes precedence. If it's green, keep rollin.'

That's a good question... I will say that I have had that happen twice, and both times I kept driving, and no one came after me. But I don't know if that's because they didn't care, or because they read the response from PrePass and didn't bother.

Prepass generally is the signal you follow though there is some debate on whether that includes a red light at a closed scale

I don't see why you should either. I guess the assumption is that if the prepass system logs you not stopping regardless if the scale is closed that it will count against your record. There has never been a clear answer on this.

To be honest, I've only had it happen once. Don't think it happens too often. ,

Just be careful in Ar, AZ, Ca and La. With a hazmat load, you have to scale no matter what. The sign will say prepass takes precedence but you have to pull in on green. Ohio has signs that say hazmat must scale, but you are allowed to go on with the green light.

You only have to stop with Hazmat in Arkansas and Arizona, with a green light on the Prepass. Read the Prepass site. California and Louisiana you can keep on going.
