trucking is a very hard lifestyle...it is hard to be lied to and be expected to take it...especially when the lies you have been told affects your family....a lot of times you wouldnt take so and so job if you had BEEN TOLD the truth.....
tell hubby that from an employers point of view tho, less jobs the better.....even with no accidents etc...they want "what looks good on paper"....in some cases they will hire someone with an accident or less exp. if "it looks good on paper".....hope y'all find what ya need soon.....Ghost Ryder, Alice 0623, mje and 1 other person Thank this. -
well Ghost Ryder....i wanna thank you...you got me fired up enough, that i got all my sweeping done in between posts....now just gotta mop...
MoGooder, mje, bullhaulerswife and 1 other person Thank this. -

Ghost Ryder, mje and bullhaulerswife Thank this. -
Sadly, companies only judge you by what's good on paper for insurance . They would rather take a guy with 20 jobs in 5 years over a guy with 1 job in 5 years and a speeding ticket

There would certainly be a question in the interview as to why so many jobs in a short amount of time. Try to maintain a positive attitude while answering, dragging all your previous employers through the dirt won't look good.
Giggles the Original and mje Thank this. -
i agree with that...talking bad about them, only makes you look bad....mje Thanks this. -
As would I. Job hopping doesn't say anything about how safe of a driver you are. It does however judge your character.Tonythetruckerdude, mje and 48Packard Thank this.

Anyone can have a string of "clunker" jobs, but that many in such a short amount of time shows immaturity, unrealistic expectations, lack of research, or all three.
OP should go into business for his or herself. Maybe then the desired expectations will be met.
Sorry, but this level of job-hopping is indefensible.BritChick, Ghost Ryder, bullhaulerswife and 5 others Thank this. -
This is a job that is really not for everybody. Too many think that it is all too easy just drive and go home when u want like a regular job. Soon find out, not even close. Traffic all the time, lied too by many all around u, time away from family, working more time than down time, isolation majority of the week...ect. Just not everyone can handle all of this on a daily...weekly...monthly...yearly basis. People quit this industry because they dont want to do the research of it first let alone be honest with themselves if they can handle it. Thats why it has such a large revolving door. Most that enter never make it 5 years. Less than half see 10 years. Pros and cons to EVERY job out there, its about being honest with yourself in what u do and who u are. Easier to be yourself than trying to be someone youre not. I for one could NEVER handle an office job. So, I dont even try to do it. Just my pennies in the hat. Be safe out there drivers.Red Hot Mess, Tonythetruckerdude, Ghost Ryder and 2 others Thank this.
