    Is the tide turning?

Made him "inactive" because he wants a decent wage to do his job?

    rafa_207 Thanks this.

I would have emailed back with a $1500 quote.

I guess I'm an idiot too, along with the 400 other carriers. I run ALOT of intrastate FL in that exact lane, and get that and more all day long.

I'm sure he is directing that email towards me because he called me earlier offering me that same load and I made him that offer.
I already forwarded the email to the president of the company. I'm going to check tomorrow if he really inactivated me :biggrin_2559:

I run flat beds in Florida, and am not impressed with the figure. What is it ? About 180 miles ? Then what to do in Fort Pierce ?
Supply and demand runs our business. I sometimes hear how other trucks will haul a load cheaper than my quote. The tables get turned around every once in a while.

That is what I try to explain to the brokers before they call me crazy and hang up on me. Is not about the miles with short runs. You have to take into consideration the time it takes to load, unload and drive time. Plus you are right Fort pierce, Miami etc is completely dead that means that you have to add 180 miles to come back home empty. That sums up to a whole day of work. For what to make $200 after I pay for fuel and food. I'm pretty sure the broker was going to be making $500 or more sitting on his chair without moving a finger.
Is true the tables do turn yesterday I did a run from Ocala, Fl to Sebring, Fl 139 miles for $1300 $9.35 per mile.
