If you are burning their fuel to get home, it only makes sense that they shouldn't have to pay you deadhead miles too. I look at it like this, if you can legally use off duty driving to get home, then you shouldn't get paid. Off duty= not working. I don't know many people who get paid after they "clock out."

I'll bet if you check the miles, they will equal those from Richmond to your pick up.
Here's one for you, was deadheaded home (Macon Ga) from East Point Ga, and Monday I was deadhead all the way up to Cartersville, Ga to pick up a load on the yard. 50 miles from East Point to home, 100 miles from home to Cartersville. Was paid 32 deadhead miles. Sometimes it benefits you, sometimes it doesn't. It's the cost of going home with their equipment. -
McElroy claimed they did. Got a buddy who still drives for them. I will ask him. Uh, correct me if I'm wrong, but you can't drive on off duty line to go home. You still have to be on driving line. Your not working but that truck is still in motion and that's what DOT or the company or even better the prosecuting lawyer will consider in case something happens. So what do you mean by off duty driving?

Lets say you don't get the blindside backing completely down while in class, will they send you home for that or let you go out with trainer and get it better? I'm alittle nervous about this one.

If you are not under a load or not dispatched to pick up a load you can drive off duty, the Qualcomm even has it as an option. It will show as off duty on the graph and is commonly referred to as line 5 listed as OFF DUTY DRIVING. It would equate to the equivalent of commuting to or from your home and is legal. You also have the ability to go to and from a restaurant on off duty driving without messing up your 10 or 34 hour break. MILLIS gives you 30 minutes per day of authorized off duty driving.

Also, if McElroy does that then good on them. There are very few places left that pay "hub miles."

And I have had my logs checked at the scale house by my house while on off duty driving and had no issues.

ok, not familiar with electronic logs. I was thinking about log books where you don't have that. Didn't know electronic logs did. Thats good, help drivers out more. That 30 min a day Millis gives can that be accumulated or is it just for that day? Guess it could be built up so you can drive home with it if needed.
