You would think with the amount of time/money/manpower carriers put into making the trucks more energy efficient, they would find a energy & environmentally friendly solution to make their drivers a bit more comfortable.
I don't understand how the DOT and the FMCSA can enact all these rules & regulations regarding driver safety (i.e. sleep apnea, driver fatigue, etc.) when you have drivers trying to sleep when the inside of their trucks can reach upwards of 100+ degrees. -
don't forget cold enough to live in a household freezer/refrigerator.
WV_Daddys_Girl Thanks this. -
I can tell you when it's that hot,my truck is running dont care about tickets.

Well, he does have one of those bunk heater thingies (and good GAWD I want one for the house!).
And I realize it is his choice to do truck driving and he's not complaining - it's me who worries that he'll get sick or worse from the heat in the summer.truckon Thanks this. -
I am kicking myself now.
January, my bunk heater quit working. I have the standard 7500 BTU bunk heater. I COULD have had a 13,900 BTU heater installed.
It would have been nice in these MN sub zero temps.buddyvuk and WV_Daddys_Girl Thank this. -
I'd like to see that as well. Most APU's average a 1/4 gal of fuel consumed for each hour of use compared to 1 gal average for each hour of idle.
