What happens if you have trouble with the blind side backing during the class? Will they still let you go with trainer to get better or send you home?

Well almost everyone has problems with blind side backing in class.. and then in training.. and then in the real world. I dont think anyone is really ever great at it. good news is you dont have to use that move very often.

Just didn't know if they test you on that at school and if so what is expected of it. Maybe it will be ok.

No one is awesome at blindside, but it can always be done. You just will get lots of exercise jumping out of the truck to go look.

yeah I've seen that. I don't expect to be perfect at it. I just don't want it to make the difference of me passing the class and offered a job. I heard when tested on the range before trainer they give you so many pull ups and so many times to get out and look before deducting from your score. Didn't know about this particular manuever.

Question, how do you guys handle loads that have to be touched? Can't remember the exact term, but, basically do you get offered or told of a lumper at the place? Does the company supplies checks for this and up to how much will they authorize vs. lumper actually charging? Any out of pocket that you have to be reimbursed on?

What do you have to pay out of pocket and reimbursement on? Tolls, scales, etc.

For freight that is driver or lumper unload, you send a macro on the qualcomm to get approval for a lumper. I have been charged $360 for a lumper for a full trailer floor load of napkins and papertowels. Company gave me a express code for a comcheck for it. Never had them not approve a lumper. You can almost always choose to unload it yourself if you want to make a little extra money. Some places don't give you the option or make you watch an hour long video, have steel toe boots, etc etc. to discourage you from unloading and use the lumper service. You can get comchecks at most terminals or truck stops and should carry 5-10 in your truck.

For other out of pockets, there is an occasional scale you have to pay for if there isn't a pilot, flying j,T/A around to use your comdata card to pay for it. They reimburse as long as you send up the receipt. Tolls you have to pay cash in Kansas, Oklahoma, and I think Florida. But they are reimbursed if you have to run them to get to where you are going. If you have to take a toll and aren't sure you can just send dispatch a message and they will let you know if its ok. Most of the toll roads are handled by ezpass.

If you ever have to buy something for the truck that you don't carry like a turn signal or license plate light they will reimburse you for it also. There is a macro to get a P.O. if its over $5 or something like that.
