I think the Cat trucks use International engines painted yellow. Could be wrong :)

Didn't know there were hard and fast divisions between OTR and vocational, thought it was more a matter of preferences. That is, is it just a matter of lockers, lower gears, and smaller sleepers?

From what I have heard the Maxforce 13/15 are based off of the Cat C13/15 blocks. So the maxxforce engines are kind of Cat engines but that is nothing to brag about based on the reputation both have. Cat designed the C15 for off road use where they didn't have to worry about the emissions requirements, and tried to bandaid on the emissions systems and it failed horribly for them. However it was short term thinking for Cat as off road vehicles will be moving up to Tier 4 requirements are being phased in right now which has very similar requirements to EPA2010. It will be interesting if Cat will re-enter the highway market in the near future now that they are having to develop emissions equipment for their off road engines as well. And will people forgive them for all the repair bills they were left with.
