He's doing his thing, and built a truck that he loves? What's wrong with that?

Most likely, the original owner probably spec'ed truck for a dromedary truck-tractor operation for high cube requirements such as baked goods, styrofoam, casket, furniture, etc. This owner-op or someone before him removed the original"dromedary box" that was originally mounted toon the chassis, behind the cab. These trucks are cheap on the use equipmentd market thereore a good starter unit for an owner-op and I think they look pretty cool in a retro kinda way.

With a 53' trailer it has to be pushing the length limit.

I see them hauling rebar out here with it over hanging on both ends.

Back in the day, fuel used to be a lot cheaper than what it is today........well, that is, if all that jive about keeping the gap between the trailer and the sleeper as little as possible for better fuel economy is true.

He is setting the truck up to load a Smart car. I have seen a few smart cars loaded sideways and pulling a 5 th wheel RV.
