Walmart dedicated?! Info pls

I drove wal-mart dedicated with werner.I remember being boared,at about 5 to700 a wk.The only time off was 34hrs after UR 70.It's not otr.U don't get 1-day for every 6-days out.U get UR 34 and annual vac time,thats it .U are dedicated......good if U live where run from.Limited to 1trk stop.astones throw away.Maybe it's right for you.For Me I'm a trucker with no wife or girlfrend so I seek the adventure......Hope this helps.

 

I don't know where you're located, but I was on the Walmart account for Schneider in Southern California before Walmart gave the contract to England. Let's see here...

- Average take-home pay was ~500-700 a week as already mentioned, but once in a blue moon you might get a 800-1100 week if you got long runs and/or plenty of multi-stop routes. Loads less than 100 miles were paid in fixed increments, which I don't exactly remember, and loads over 100 miles were 38.5 cents per mile. We'd pick up a preloaded trailer at a DC and deliver the freight to 1-8 stores within 500 miles.

- Hometime was pretty good actually. I was home either every day or every other day for my 10-hr break. They say 6 days, but that was just the maximum number of days they would keep you out for, though I can't imagine why since they'd want you to return ASAP to pick up another load. The most I had ever been out for was 3-4 days, and that was because of adverse weather and a pain-in-the-### backhaul shipper.

- I'm pretty sure Walmart had no control over Schneider's existing rider policy, so Schneider's policy of allowing riders after you've been with them for 6 months still applies.

The whole thing was exciting, to say the least. And by exciting, I mean unpredictable. The only thing that was 99% certain was the 34-hr reset. Start/end times, pick-up location (we did 3 DCs), destination(s), backhauls, sleeping patterns, and mid-week down time (how much time you'd have after your 10) were all total crapshoots.

You should be able to run around 2000 miles a week. Its the easiest account to run.. no hand unload just back it in call store to have a manager let you in they take their items off and on to the next.. I ran out of olney and now im running out of washington c h.. now that I ve figured out the slotting I have startwd running 2 loads a night making average of 200$ a day. Hometime is a solid 2 days no restart unless its around certain holidays. Down here you can have a rider, my duaghter has come with me a few times.
