Just a quick disclaimer.... a hand holding a .45 will not pop out of the device and hijack your truck. It will however, make annoying sounds with annoying pop-ups until you clear the restricted area. I agree with Zen one this one regarding not using a route, especially on the 760.

    Hi All,

I have read a lot of posts on this thread and others. I personally want to invest in a Gps and now I find my self even more confused now then before. What in your option is better the GARMIN Dezl 760 or Rand McNally TND 710??

    :biggrin_2557: Thanks....

Garmin. It automatically adjusts route if the traffic is really bad.

I prefer Garmin Dezl 760 over the Rand McNally because you get free lifetime map updates. I had the Rand McNally and I had to pay for the updates for the maps. It can get expensive after awhile. Everyone out on the road wants to nickle and dime you to death!!

Weigh stations are still not showing for me after new maps update, but the issue I had going I-20 West onto 285 has been fixed. It routes correctly now.

Does anyone know if the 19.99 traffic purchase on live services is the same as what we get with the included traffic receiver, or does it make it better?

I don't know. I always use Inrix traffic on my phone and compare it to the GPS. Last 2 times through STL, I chose a different route than the GPS.

My jury is still out on that. I am also not using my 760 for the time being. Kind've waiting to see what the next firmware updates fix and hoping they'll fix my problems that aren't being addressed (GCS was supposed to send me some stuff regarding a few issues via email- nothing ever showed). In the meantime, went back and put the - - - - - - - - back on my windshield along with a non truck specific device for dedicated APRS amature radio duties. And with that, thus finishes my posting on this thread- for now.
