I do 20+ stops a lot of days, and have been to about every type of business in existance....

My least favorite type of business to deliver to are....

Union auto plants! Big, sprawling complexes that never know where they want their freight.

You pull in there with 1 skid to deliver, sit in line behind 3 other trucks, check in at guard shack where they want to know everything about you and a blood and urine sample. Rude rentacop tells you take this to door 7. You take it to door 7, which may or may not be marked, stand outside a steel door with no buzzer until somebody finally decides to put their newspaper down and let you in.

Disgrunted employee looks at bol and says oh you gotta take this to the parts department, which is of course on the other side of the facility. You navigate your way across 17 employee walkways, go to parts department, wait at door again, disgruntled employee says this needs to go to the machine shop. You navigate the place again, blah blah blah, machinist lets you in.

Sorry guy, we are going to lunch, be back in 30 (which you know is 45).

    Wait....Wait....Wait....

Machinist comes back, pulls off skid, signs bill...You go to leave, wait at guardshack...Sometimes takes an act of congress just to get out of these places. :)

Sorry fellas, had a rough monday!

I also hate delivering to car dealerships (priuses and minivans always parked in the way)

yeah, why?, and where, that whole state is navajo along with NM.

i took a back road into nm. stopped at mcd's. just before the state line.

kind of surprised me to be the only white guy in the whole town. my first experience in an all indian town.

The union auto plant sounds like those sprawling RV factories. There can be 20 buildings in one facility and if you don't check your DR before going in, you'll be driving around lost :biggrin_25523: And that doesn't even mention driving around the facility, with forklifts and trucks on paths barely big enough for two lane driving.

Union food wharehouses, you pull in, back up to the dock, open your doors, (no other trucks around), the forktruck driver suddenly decides it's break time. Then it's break time again whenever the lunch wagon shows up.
