you have miles listed on the overhaul. but not listed on the truck??????

i was doing an 05 w9 with isx 450 for 25G. 900k miles. that truck turned into a money pit at million miles. 10G was spent before an electrical issue was found and fixed. then it was the clutch. TWICE. and the turbo. i gave up when the front cover started leaking, then the rear main. to which i had replaced when the clutch was replaced.

look at paccar financial and arrow financial. you'll find newer trucks with less miles for less money.
only thing going for you is the overhaul. other then that, your looking at an old gas guzzler. w9's aren't known for there mileage.

You sure can. I'd buy this truck if I had the cash, or a reason to need another truck.
You can hem and haw all you want, different options will present themselves. Took me quite some time to find a flattop w9 with a Detroit and the wheelbase I wanted, in the condition I wanted. Lots of looking and traveling to go see in person. Paid the asking price when I found it: because it was worth it to me. Also: I find it exceptionally annoying to deal with people that want to beat the price down. If the product is what I want when I want it it should have enough value to be worth the price asked/conversely if the price is too high then it isn't going to be classified as "what I want when I want it".
Judging by all your other posts, you seem to be looking more at price range then specs or brand. Probably want to figure at least a bit of that out first as it will make the biggest difference. A properly spec'ed truck will make you more money than a poorly spec'ed one because of the cost per mile to run it.

If yer plannin to pull a van this might not be a good fuel mileage truck being a 280" WB...yer gonna have a 5' gap between the bunk n the trailer. The rest of the specs are really good though.

Honestly i was getting ready to buy this truck.....then the "overhaul" paperwork came in and there is no solid proof that overhaul is done , i am not sure where is he getting the milege from ...its just to fishy. i am not going to buy just any truck .
I want decent milege , detroit motor, pre egr , decent tires, good dyno and decent specs ....i am not to picky. ...

Price seems a little steep for a truck with a Detroit and a short hood. The Detroit would be a def turn off for me.

It's funny you say that. My buddy is looking to sell his '06 model 780 he's driving a '99 W900 with very similar specs as the truck in OP, same motor.. He had to put a little work into it as the truck had been parked over a year but he is getting great fuel mileage. 6.25 on his first long trip with some headwind driving 65ish with a light load, it's pulling a van and has a roof fairing, said he did some idling cause it was down into Texas.. He likes it a lot better than the Volvo, not that the Volvo was a terrible truck but it was kind of quirky and did eat some revenue from time to time. He was always annoyed that there wasn't much he could do with it when electronic buggaboos popped up and is happy to have a much simpler truck now.
