Okay, so i was on a Class B road at Plymouth,MI i did not know it was a class B road. The officer stopped me and told me to follow him to a rest area. He scaled me on a portable scale that they had in the car. So i was overweight according only to the class b road, not the 80,000 gross total. I contacted the court and they told me its a $5000 ticket. I can not pay this and dont have that kind of money. Does anybody know about this issue?

What road in Plymouth? Frost laws are on in Upper Michigan, but I am not sure about down there.

I do know of a person that paid his fines on a payment plan. Might try and go that route if they will let you.

Yep, bet you got nailed on the frost law rules. Hate to be in your spot. I've paid over weight fines before.
Did they hold you or the trk. hostage untill you come up with the money

You may want to get a lawyer to see if it can be reduced. A lawyer will cost about $500.

Are you a company driver? we have had several of our drivers get high dollar fines for the same issue while trying to make residential deliveries etc. The company paid the fine then took monthly payments out of the drivers check.

No we are owner operators. No this was nothing related to frost, simply the officer said that it was going to be a fine for bieng on a class B road. The fine for bieng on the road was $225, but they decided to fine me on how overwight the truck + trailer axles were ACCORDING TO THE ROAD. Plymouth is more near the detroit area, so it is not up north! I did get an attornery, i hope they dismiss or do a reduction on the fine. I suggest everyone going to the detroit and plymouth township area to be aware of signs because i did not see one. Also another truck got the same ticket that was behind me!

Don't they post the roads in the spring like they do in Illinois?
