Thanks Tats Man! Best of luck to you too! I honestly think Central is a good choice. I second guess myself and I think that's only natural but I hear WAY more positive than negative. The people at the DMV even said good things about Central and some not so good things about some of the other training companies here. I'll try to be more active on my posting! lol
GWG Thanks this. -
Day 5
Well we lost another one today I heard he did not pass his drug screen. so we are now down to 5.
First day in the yard today was a little disorganized but they had two new instructors in training for anther school in Yuba City. First thing we worked on was pretrip inspections and I feel i have the axles and fifth wheel area down. Then while i was doing that one of the instructors pulled me over to do an alley dock. All I can say is WOW! first time in a big rig and it was fun. I didn't do so well on my attempt and started to Pop the clutch trying to find the release point. after that i went back to working on my pretrip. then later in the day I decided I wanted to work on the alley dock again this time I got it with 3 pull ups and getting out twice. on the third try I got it in with 2 pull ups and one get out. I feel I am close to getting this maneuver i knew what I needed to do but kept doing in a little two late. Tomorrow is back in the yard need to remember a hat and sunscreen.

Day six done tomorrow is a day off for us.
Today we where in the yard again and it was just as disorganized as yesterday. we had 9 students and one instructor. No one went out on the road today so we spent our time in the yard working on skills. I started the day working on Pretrip which except for the in cab work I have pretty much down. Then the instructor had me do the straight back and I nailed that (this was a good confidence booster) then the instructor gave me some pointers on how to do an offset. I worked on that for about 20 min. then I went over to where they where working on the Ally dock in a shorter truck (I think it had a 40' box) this was good practice because the shorter box turns a lot quicker and the clutch was easier to push. After working on that a for a few tries with another Student I got close just need to get down which way to turn the wheel to get the trailer to move in the direction I intend it to go. Then I went back over to the straight back and offset and spent about 1.5 hours working on my offsets and straight backs till we went home for the day. well that closes out this week now we are off tomorrow and then back at it Monday. I can't wait to get to Fontana and get going.Last edited: Apr 20, 2013

There are no carrying of weights or anything like that. In Sacramento we had just a basic Physical, Blood Pressure, Eye exam, Piss test for Drugs, sugar and proteins. Then they check your Abdomen.
