I just read the OP and immediately was reminded of a near miss a couple months ago. Guy passes me about 2-3 mph faster than I'm going, I look over and he has both feet up on the center console, talking on the phone with one hand and steering with the other hand. I was going the same speed as a Fedex combo about 3 truck lengths in front of me. As the guy continues in the hammer lane on cruise control he starts weaving a bit because of a side wind. Suddenly his left side tires catch the lane edge and he nearly goes down into the median, over corrects and swerves hard to the right (nearly hitting the rear trailer on the Fedex combo), overcorrects to the left and nearly goes into the median again, comes back and evens out...

... I wonder how many tire tracks into the median or off to the side are the result of idiots taking the responsibility of driving an 80K lb sled too lightly?
