Is the Qual Comm mpg display accurate? I just started using one two weeks ago. The first i pulled mostly lighter loads and it said my average was 6.9-7.9. The next week I pulled heavy loads and the went down to 5.9-6.3. Then I pulled a light weight 4000lbs load and I expected to see mpg go back into the sevens but no it stayed at 6.3.

It is only as accurate as the data from your ECM. Which usually, though not always, is off from what mpg actually is pump to pump. It is nice for a general idea of mpg, but the only way to gauge mpg accurately is to divide miles by gallons when you fill up, with a running average over time.

The QUALCOMM in question resets the average mpg, every 4 to 7 days pending how your safety manager has set it up in their system.

    Cowpie1 Thanks this.

Yep. Forgot to mention that also. My Qualcomm unit is programmed to reset the mpg on every Friday evening.

Depends if the Qc has the right pulse per mile setting.
Mine don't and shows higher mpg than my flowscan.
This week the Qc shows 11mpg were the flowscan shows 7.7.
