I recently had six cases of produce rejected and I had a hard time getting rid of it and the pallet they put it on. This has to happen a lot s there has to be some way of doing it that I'm not aware of and thought I'd ask.

Behind every strip mall there usually is a truck lane lined with dumpsters. Just don't get caught.
Of course if its not rotten take it to the nearest T/S and start sellin.mje Thanks this. -
It was cabbage and in good condition, just the boxes split. Probably on that wonderful ride known as I10 in Louisiana. I was merely told to dispose of it.

Or if it's a company wagon, just drop it in the yard and bolt.
Joke, people. Put the matches away.mje Thanks this. -
We look up local food banks. Tell them why it was rejected, how much you have, and where you are. Most of the time they can tell you where you can take it and I have had them send out a van or box truck to pick it up.
Some times you can get a tax wright off if you ask when on the phone they can get you the paper work.formertaxidriver, mje, chalupa and 2 others Thank this. -
First choice is to find another buyer. Many small outfits will buy rejected stuff at a discount. If that doesn't work then....
Any food product find the local food bank and they'll gladly take it off your hands. They are easily found online. I even gave stuff to churches that had similar programs feeding the needy.
You can even get a donation receipt and use it as a itemized charitable deduction for you or the company.
Like here where I live we have a place called We Care. They'll literally take anything from food to clothes and furniture. What they don't give away they sell to support other parts of their program. -
Dispose cabbage on side of the road and put the boxes and pallet in a dumpster

I had 4 cases of the small fruit drinks and was told to depose of it. I was parked at a Truck stop and I asked the owner of the T/S about a food bank and he asked me what I had. He bought them off of me.
But when I got back to the truck after unloading them the company had change their mind and sent me a load assignment to take them to a place in Knoxville TN for recycle, to late Deposed of as per order of the claims Department.NavigatorWife Thanks this.
