Well i worked for these people for a month and a half and in that time i put in more free time for the company then i got paid for!!!!
i was told this was a good company to work for but what i found out is THAT IT USED TO BE GOOD TO WORK FOR!!!!! The old owners paid there drivers well but the new ones do not!!! The new owners Gorden # 75%
and Hainey #25% have set the pay for all new hires as well as the Governing of all the trucks!!!!! So here is the Scoop at this place!!!
The Recruiter Jim has never drove a big rig in his life and he was put here by Gorden and this man is good with the word game you know saying words and phrases that could mean 2 or 3 different things like all good recruiters you hear what you want not what they well really do!!!!!
Starting pay is $00.31 cpm and ($13.75hr for local runs only) and you are told drivers average 10,000 miles a month!!!! and they are getting new trucks!!!! Well they haul Warehouser loads mostly ranging from 40,000 to 63,000lbs for a total gross weight at 105,500 or less!!!! the trucks are very heavily governed can you say pulling a hill at 20mph???? new truck ha ha you find out you are getting put in one of the old trucks that have been stretched to add a drop axle so under a load you have 6 to 8 axles on the ground they have some old timers there that have worked there a long time but they are still paid by the old scale and all of them run local and are home every night!!!! all new drivers run I-5 up to some were around Seattle WA and back to Albany OR!!!! as it is you know as well as i do some time in your trip up and back you WILL GET STUCK IN TRAFFIC so by the time you figure up you time for the trip and the money you maid for it it figures out to be around $10.00 or less and they will not sent any of there old timers on the old pay scale up there as that cost them about $20.00hr for them!!! then you find out you have to work for them for a year before they will put you into a new truck!!!! (DID I SAY GORDEN AND HAINEY???) also there is allot and i do mean allot of paper work all drivers have to do!!!!! but you do get home each week for 2 days off if you live local or you stay in your truck for 2 days at no pay!!!! they do take great pride in there safety record as it is there truck do not have that much power and have a top speed of 57 to 62mph (THINK I SAID GORDEN AND HAINEY????) Gorden set the new pay scale and miles limit so you do not to make much money!!! they will not tell you what there driver take home each week!!! so it is a come and find out type of thing!!! this place is good if you are retired and are looking for a very full time job and do not wish to make any money!!! if you are trying to support a family forget it you will starve at this place!!!!! (I MOST CERTAINLY THINK I SAID GORDEN AND HAINEY DID I NOT!!!!!!) it is not hard to find a better job then working for this place i think Swift pays more and even the Gorden and Hainey drivers make more money then you get paid at CASCADE EXPRESS!!!!! remember i said i was told driver average 10,000 mile a month well when i ran from this place and i do mean RAN i figured out all the days i worked and all my time and all the miles i ran for them and got an average of less then 327 mile per day!!!! you make more money going from Albany OR to Olympia Wa then going from Albany OR to Seattle WA
as for any long runs or dedicated runs forget it all the old timers have them and any new driver wont even get close to getting those kind of miles!!!!!!!
I do have to say there are some very nice people working there but that does not fill your wallet with money!!! most of there truck are old and have over 1,000,000 miles on them!!!!!! So the bottom line here if you want to work for free or give them half of your time for free you will do well here!!!!!!
I have or was looking in the Statesman Journal new paper and did not noticed it before i went to work for them but as of last week they are still running there ad!!! while i was there i counted 9 new drivers that had quit before there forth day of working for them just wist i was as smart as they were!!!!!
