cobra 29 classic, whats wrong?

Well It certainly could be the mic..and you would want to make sure it's not the mic before you go on to something else.. Try to find someone that has a cobra 29 LTD any version of the 29 Cobra will work just to make sure use there mic in yours and yours in there's maybe that will let you know..

 

You have to shake the radio to receive ?

 

My guy found the mic pins on the radio end loose causing issues. Gently pried the pins a but bigger for a tighter fit. All good.

 

Sounds to me like the radio needs a good cleaning of all parts inside and out, mike included.

 

they still use a cb bought a new one hardly nobody on it to use it, to talk to anybody

 

If you were using an old RK-56 the new one will not sound as good......they got bought out and Turner no longer makes them.
It will still be an improvement over the stock mic.

If you have the old 56 and it says Turner Telex on the back DO NOT get rid of it.Have it repaired.
It is usually the spring inside breaks on the older mics.

The best mic on the market now is the Ranger SRA 198...
I have a new RK-56 and a new Astatic.....both ended up in a drawer in my sleeper.The Ranger sounds way better!
