Ok, i am stuck on a load, i am not one of these brokers who takes 1/3 or 1/2, in other words iam not tql, i do 10% off top and i give descent rate's per mile, this one inparticular is 2.34 a mile, last i checked thats not horrible, on the other hand it has the god awful multi pick multi drop which i priced at 50 each and all goes to the driver i dont take any of it. I calculate miles, i calculate fuel, i calculate, running expense, ect..... So i feel my pricing is fair, maybe not a gold mine but fair none the less.
I start calling driver's and most run away from the multi pick or dont run that route. But when i finaly get ahold of one he tells me," oh i usualy get 5500.00 for that route"? Wtf, no you dont and if you do then that is awesome but i cant touch that. 1230 miles at 5500.00, that four and a half a mile, now iam not saying that rate does'nt exist, but i dont think it's as common as this gentleman made it out to be. My supplier would laugh at me if i told him that much. So the brokers are the bad guys on 99% of the threads that i read but when iam doing right, and right by the driver and busting a&& too make sure that the driver makes 2.00 or above a mile, i pass up loads if they dont provide the driver what they need which means that i pass up money so that i dont screw a driver or offer him something rediculous, then when i get a load that pays descent, nobody eill cover it or wants a small fortune to do so. I know the job is hard, i know its lonely, i know its not the funnest thing in the world, i used to crawl threw attics for 13yrs and was underpaid and worked 70 plus hrs a week to make what i can for my family, but is it just me or am i realy that far off? I didnt choose their line of work for them and i am tired of playing let make a deal with everyone all the time, i know its part of my job but whatever happened to just being honest with each other and making some money together. Hell iam only making a little over 300.00 on the deal. Is it me cuz if so i need to know what iam doing wrong
i would realy like to know, am i wrong for feeling this way about it. Do u guys realy get 4.50 a mile on every load, from what i read on a daily it seems like 2.34 a mile would be pretty good? Someone help clear this up for me, any imput even negative would be appreciated, thanx guys

really depends how many stops and where finale is. I haven't pulled reefer in yrs but at with the info provided I would say no also. it's to low per mile to have any FSC in it. and if it's more than 3 stops total it's to low to even consider.

ALRIGHTY, I JUST GOT A LOAD DROPED ON ME FROM A SUPPLIER, #1 HE AS MOST OF THEM ARE, IS A SNAKE IN THE GRASS AND DOESN'T CARE ABOUT ANYONE BUT HIMSELF, HOWEVER THATS IRRELEVANT AT THIS TIME. I GOT A LOAD AND WAS ABLE TO NEGOTIATE IT TOWHERE I MAKE ABOUT 320.00 WHICH IS THE 10% THAT I TAKE OFF TOP, AND IT LEFT AROUND 2.34 PER MILE FOR THE DRIVER. IT HAD SEVERAL PICKS AND DROPS, SO I CHARGED HIM 50.00 A PIECE AND THAT GOES STRAIGHT TO THE DRIVER I DONT TOUCH IT, IN MY OPINION ITS NOT MY MONEY TO TOUCH ITS THE DRIVER, HES THE ONE WHO HAS TO DEAL WITH IT SO HE GETS THE CASH. NOW, KEEP IN MIND IAM CONFUSED AND FRUSTRATED WHEN READING THIS. I READ EVERYDAY ON THIS SITE, 99% OF THE TIME EVERYONE HATES THE BROKER. IAM NOT NOR WILL I EVER BE ANYTHING CLOSE TO TQL OR ANY OF THE OTHERS' OUT THERE TRYING TO GET RICH AT THE DRIVERS EXPENSE, I DONT TAKE 1/3 OR 1/2, I TAKE THE 10% AND THATS ALL, THE ONLY TIME I TAKE MORE OFF THE TOP AND BY MORE I AM ONLY TALKING 100-200 IS IF I GOT A LANE THAT WAS WAY OVER, WHICH HARDLY EVER HAPPENS BECAUSE THE SHIPPERS ARE ALL TIGHT WADS SO THEY DONT ALLOW IT. BACK TO THE POINT. SO IT RUNS FROM CA-WA AND HAS MULTI PICKS N DROPS. I START CALLING DRIVERS AND NOBODY RUNS THAT ROUTE, NO BIGGIE I KEEP FISHING. I GET AHOLD OF A FEW THAT DO AND THEY ALL START WITH THE, "I GET DOUBLE THAT ON THAT ROUTE", BS, NOW IAM NOT A VETERIN BUT IAM NOT STUPID EITHER. AT LEAST I DONT THINK IAM? HOW OFTEN DOES A DRIVER REALY GET FREAKING 4.50-5.00 A MILE? AND IF IT IS ALL THE TIME THEN WHY IS IT EVERYTIME I LOOK AT A POST OR TALK TO A DRIVER THEIR GRIPING ABOUT NOT MAKING ENOUGH MONEY? NOW IAM STUCK WITH A LOAD AND CANT FIND ANYONE TO COVER IT AS OF YET, AND ON TOP OF THAT WHEN I THOUGHT I WAS BEING FAIR WITH MY RATE'S I HAVE GUYS TELLING ME THAT IAM TRYING TO SCREW THEM WHICH BY THE WAY PISSES ME OFF TO NO END CUZ THAT IS THE LAST THING I WOULD EVER "TRY" TO DO. I WAS PLANNING ON JUST POSTING IT IN TWO PLACES, BECAUSE THEY ARE DIFFERENT WHICH WOULD MEAN THAT DIFFERENT PEOPLE MAY LOOK AT THE THREAD, ALSO I USE CAPS BECAUSE MY VISION IS'NT VERY GOOD AND BECAUSE I LIKE IT, NOT BECAUSE IAM YELLING AT ANYONE????? I figured if u didn't have a reefer then why would you go onto the reefer forum, look, iam just trying to figure it out and I was hoping to get multi opinion. thank you for yours, but at the same time what was there to gain by pulling my other post and putting it on this one and being a smart ####. just wondering? obviously I didn't have to do that, it wasn't till after I was done that I noticed the new thread pop up on the side for you to read. iam new to the site so not familier at this point in time with how it all works. its funny I have been on a few of these this is my first trucking one, but it seems there is always a few of those guys who love to point out every mistake and then state their opinion about it as if I or anyone else would care. there's no reason to do it, there's nothing to gain, other than you get to make someone look like an idiot in front of everyone else on the board. THANKS! BUDDY! LOL. HOPE YOU FIND SOMETHING BETTER TO DO WITH YOUR TIME. JUST SO NOBODY GETS OFFENDED IAM TALKING TO CRITTER'S, NOT ANYONE ELSE.
