i have discussed opening a truckstop with some area guys, and one of the things i think is a great attraction is an actual truckstop, not a "travel center"
but a place where you can air your tires, buy parts, maybe rent tools, pressure wash road dirt, snow and bugs off of your truck, get those parts that Pilot/Loves/Flying J never carry
have a decent TV room, with good food, maybe even call and order in advance
clean bathrooms, and LOTS of parking
if you have something decent, drivers wont just stop and sleep, but actually look forward to arriving and having a cool/warm place to rest when its hot/cold outside without having to idle their truck

Pressure washing can cause problems with EPA . Local regulations need to be checked . I had a mobile pressure washing service and checked with the state EPA . They told me actually I had little to worry about . It would be the property owner where there work was performed that would be responsible for any violations . Some communities had systems that allowed oil to enter storm drainage . This was the case in Worcester , MA where I was able to rent my washers to the mud racers when they appeared with the monster trucks .

i was always under the impression that as long as its only water (no soap) there are no restrictions
reminds me of asbestos, comes out the ground in the same state you use it, but if you dispose of it, you have to double and triple bag it
such is government regulations gone amok -
SO IT TURNS OUT THAT EVERYONE AT THE PILOT FJ CORPORATE OFFICE WAS IN ON THE REBATE RIP OFF. TWO EMPLOYEE INFORMANTS WORE WIRES AND RECORDED THE VICE PRESIDENT OF SALES SAYING F... EM Early and F...EM OFTEN talking about the trucking companies. Theres claims that even the president knew what was going on. In this article they mention Western Express and they say if the customer (the trucking company) is smart enough to figure it out they pay up. If not then they dont. Heres the article... http://www.thetruckersreport.com/f-...etter_Test_Campaign1_25_2013&utm_medium=email

The only reason why his makes me mad is because, again, poop rolls downhill. Drivers are going to end up paying for part of this somehow.
As for "F them early, and F them often": hopefully, the people responsible for this, even Haslam himself, will hear those words from some big dude smiling at them the first night they spend in the joint.Leftlane101, camaro68, Red Hot Mess and 1 other person Thank this. -
They will probably never go to jail..
Will find some underling to take the fall and they will smile the whole time, saying I did'nt know about this.
Welcome to big bussiness. -
You wonder sometimes, are there any honest people around anymore. I read where Flying J's revenue was in the billions. If your making billions, why would you have to cheat people trying to make an honest living. What's wrong with people?

K. Most business owners are honest . Given the present state of morals in this country of ours , that's saying a lot.
IF the Feds have Proof , ie , people with wires , recorded conversations where the big bosses were present , they'll fry , as they should , if that's what actually happened. Remember , Obama and his administration Hate Business .
But , this is still , supposedly , the land where you are innocent until Proven Guilty. This is especially true if you can hire $500.00 an hour Lawyers .
Remember , Laws are written nowadays , by Lawyers , for Lawyers.camaro68 Thanks this. -
There is no reason to political comment here.
It is plain that greed is the problem, not the political party in Washington. They did not cause the employees and management to steal.joseph1135 Thanks this. -
What he said. No one has proven dip yet. Lots of accusations. That is not a conviction.joseph1135 Thanks this.
