In that situation my company tells us to leave the premises and to note on log (drive to safe haven). If we get a ticket for this they would pay it.I am on e-logs and in 2 years this has only happened once where I was forced to leave. Most customers will work with you if requested politely.

Thats happen to me more then once. You ask the shipper where is the nearest place to park. Most know of a place real close.Try not to let your hrs get that low where you have to worry about it.If you feel you're not going to have the hrs to get loaded and find a safe haven then tell your dispatcher ASAP.They may reschedule till the next morning.

yep than they fix it or you put the fuse back and it uploads your new gps location and when safety reviews your logs and see that your elog went down and had sent sleeper berth or off duty at xxxx.xxxx and than your paper log shows you somewhere else I could work I guess if you went down the road and waited out the time and worked it just right....

in other words, if you are on paper and you drive slowly, or within a few miles, you will no longer be considered an outlaw

now, the question is how slow and how far? i say 500mi at 70mph, what say you?

Please don't mislead by misquoting that part.....

Richter is claiming that FMCSA is saying it's ok.

I'd like to SEE that statement.
