It depends on where you live Dave I've been at USF for about 8 years now and as long
as your record is clean and you could show our safety guy you could drive, they might just
give you a shot, its hard to find a driver with a clean Cdl try there website just search for
Reddaway jobs. I know we are currently looking for 10 drivers for both in are Reno yard and
Salt lake yard, and every terminal needs at least 1 or 2 drivers right now.

DaveBrown, mje and jakebrake12 Thank this.

Alot of insurance companies will demand you take a refresher course,it will be mandatory for you before you get a job. Some of these will put you thru a school for free, but you will have to work on contract for a defined period of time.Any National carrier like swift or england will hose you.If you quit before your contract is up,you will not work for a national company, they all work together and you will be blacklisted.

    mje Thanks this.

Without trying to sound naive or stupid, isn't blacklisting against federal labor laws and regulations?

The reason most ltl outfits will hire young with no experience is that they're self insured. To what extent I'm not sure, and they must have some insurance from a third party in the event of a massive financial disaster type accident, but Con-way Freight is self insured as are most if not all of the major ltl carriers.

Right now I make 22.96 for hourly and 56cpm. Our top rate is over 25 per hour and 63cpm. There are NY wages though.

yes some of our truck are a bit run down. But there are some that look run down but mechanical wise perfectly fine
