Again, the question refers to the week at orientation, when we are being interviewed. AFTER I pass the instruction phase and gain my CDL, and am hired by the company then I do not have to be completely wrinkle free. Anyone however, can spend a few minutes and not look disheveled...if one is so inclined to be concerned with the outward appearance that one presents to others. To each there own. Thank you to those who offer helpful advice. I appreciate it very much.

You're on the right path. Everyone jumping on u for road missd ur pt. You ain't hired til your hired. Smart thinking on your part. This is still a people biz. You are perceived as u present yourself.

This is the part that has me a little uneasy about the idea. I have no vacation time. Taking a trip down there doesn't just mean I'm not making the money that week to pay my rent, but because of my company's policy, it's either quit or be fired. If they bring me down there, and for whatever reason decide they don't want me, I didn't just miss out on a job, I probably lost my home too.
My jobs I was fired from are very hard to explain, and honestly, I wouldn't believe the stories of what happened. Especially where the same bad training, that the insane proof in my favor was that the entire staff did it the same exact way, happened at both jobs. And that's overlooking the impossible to believe story of being my manager's friend's scapegoat because I was friends with a girl that he liked and he wasn't happy about that, so instead of him getting in trouble, dates of incidents got changed, paperwork that went to the state made completely inaccurate claims... Or that at the other job I was forced into a meeting with the intent to intimidate me (an entire department vs me alone) and point out everything that I do wrong, which was just lie after lie being fired off by a coworker that I've gone to my manager about some pretty serious issues with, to finally get suspended for not following the break policy, even though the entire department's version of the story was that I followed the break policy exactly how I was supposed to, not to mention the fact that in 2 years my manager seemed to never catch me doing it, yet I supposedly did it every day... But then I got fired over the paperwork, then a week later my clueless manager let something slip to the department... About how corporate was on her to get rid of one of the aids because she had too many working there... A little convenient.
The thing is, even though that story is 100% true, how do you tell that story without being laughed out of the office? And not just that, but when the story they gave you keeps changing, how do you explain it in a way that they're not going to say something completely different? Cuz we all know, companies will take the former employers side when stories don't match. -
Actually by law the former employer can only say that yes you did work there. They cannot tell the new employer about why you got fired.
-
Actually,
if the former employer is telling the truth,
they can say anything they want !! -
It doesn't have to be the truth, they just have to believe it's the truth

I'm pretty sure they get paid a little more than solo, but split between them. They also get a bonus for every mile over 3500.
Not sure of the exact numbers, because I can't find a pay table for them.gmanwalker Thanks this.
