When you're about to take the test, take very long, deep breaths for a few minutes before. It helps relax you for one and slows you down a bit. I used to ride a bicycle 15 miles to donate plasma twice a week in college and it worked every time. If I didn't do that my BP would be way too high and they wouldn't let me donate. It took me a couple times to figure it out but when it came to beer money I was going to get it done somehow lol.

Test it out sometime at a drug store. You can make it go real high if you breathe right, or I guess wrong and pretty low if you do it right.

I just took my physical about a month ago and had almost identical bp. They just gave me a 1 year instead of 2 year. No biggie, but do what you can to get it down. BP medication from your doc if necessary.

You should disclose every medication you take. You are required to do so at the time of your physical. I would rather open that can of worms than risk hurting my career by lying on documents. That's foolish.

I'm amazed how some folks thinks it's OK to take meds for this BP situation.
    A quick fix eh?
Is that the best that you guys can come up with for a solution? No matter what you do you still have high BP whether you take meds or not. Drugs just mask the symptoms, so what use is that?
you need to find the real reason why youre BP is high.,
meds can do more damage than good. Doctors don't care about your health and neither do the drug companies. It's all about the almighty buck with those turkeys.
Dont listen to all these "theories" about what you should or shouldn't do.
Do your own research on the topic. There's plenty of good sound info on the net
what works for some folks may not work for you.
There are so many variables that can make BP go up or down.
But you can start by taking a good hard look at your general health as I do on a regular basis.
    good luck

Dr. You need to take them so it gives you time to figure out what works for you. If you pussyfoot around trying to find what works for you, you may not be with us any more......read dead from a stroke!

When I first went on the meds was after I was at the DDS office to have some teeth pulled. I felt fine, Dr & nurse were white as a ghost, and they were on the phone calling the meat wagon to rush me to the hospital it was that high. I was able to talk them out of that after signing papers, saw my doc and was put on meds. If not put on meds I may not be here today.
High BP runs in my family dad had a few mini strokes before he passed. Mom got hit harder first stroke she lost feeling in hand & leg but was still able to get around. Second stroke put her in a home for years paralyzed on her left side till she passed.

So I know first hand high BP is nothing to play with, see a doctor, work with him/her, do your home work to see what questions you can ask the doctor to be able to get off BP meds or at least cut way back on them. For me it was losing weight thru a "life style" change and exercise to cut back on meds.
