I was wondering if anyone has had to deal with a maxforce 13 (2010 emmisions) it will not do passive regens while driving down the road or is is sooting up every 250 miles consistantly to the point stationary regens are required. No fault codes, stationary regens with laptop work great nice and hot. We have looked at everything. I have exported the parameters to internaional several times. Is it possible something in the programming during an update could have gone bad disabling passive regens. any ideas would be appreciated.
2010 maxforce 13 will not do passive regen.

Totally off subject, but then maybe not. Romney was going to try to reign in the EPA, which is the reason for your woes!

Check the fuel doser and replace it. The nozzle on them tends to plug and stick, there is also a new gasket for it with a larger hole for the nozzle tip to prevent plugging. If the predoc is damaged it will cause frequent regens, this is most likely due to a failed doser. Make sure the ecm is at the latest cal and there is no exhaust or boost leaks.
Heavyd and Mr. Truck Fixer Thank this. -
Now that you mention boost leak the driver has mentioned the sound of boost leak but we have never been able to track it down. Said it comes and goes.

the ETV to head seal tends to leak. They have grey RTV there and blows out, they make a metal gasket now for it.
Heavyd Thanks this. -
So what was wrong with it am having same exact issue -
Several things will cause no passive regens. We have found fuel delivery pressure slightly too high. There is a grey area where the ECM doesn't like high fuel pressure and will not allow a regen to start, but not high enough to log a code. If your fuel delivery pressure is over 120 psi you will have regen problems. We have seen corrupted body controllers give the engine false regen inhibitors so a regen will not take place. Severely dirty or plugged aftertreatment injectors will cause this. There are many more, but you basically need to plug into it to see. Unfortunately, there is literally nothing a owner/operator can do without diagnostic software to see what is going on.

Im having the same problems, dealer wont check parameters
Had high and low temp egr coolers replaced, computer upgraded, ati (doser valve) replaced, dpf filter cleaned, still multiple regens. Overheard a "mechanic" say the last time I was at the deal, that nobody had their ASE certification, and he was upset that he couldn't get a raise, need to find a real technician! -
Technician talent is becoming a problem and dealers do not want to pay. Our door rate has increased nearly $30 in the last 5 years and we have not seen any of it. International has cut back the warranty times so bad it is impossible to make a profit doing most warranty work. Dealers avoid it as much as possible.
