That looks like an R&J truck out of Manitowoc, Wi. They haul alot of rollers for the paper industry that cant get rust on them. Same with Lily Trucking, they advertise for jobs in the Appleton area.
Just wondering - reefer on a flatbed?

Some metal loads need hauled this way. Those trailers have been around for along time.

Jumbo wins the prize, it was in fact an R&J truck with paper rollers on it. GTI Roll out of Canada is another outfit with reefers on covered wagons and again they are hauling paper rollers.Jumbo Thanks this.

A lot of steel haulers have been doing that for years in the north and Canada as they can heat up a rack & tarp to remove condensation of off coil and sheet steel. Another possibility is the product they are hauling can be worked if it gets too warm for example. A lot of guys do it, maybe just to confuse the rest of us.

As others noted used a lot in the special metal side of steel hauling also when NASA was building the shuttle you would see a lot of the refrigerated flatbed rack kit trailers hauling specialized equipment.

If you can see that reefer from another truck passing on the highway, they're doin' it wrong
SHC Thanks this. -
I had a flatbed and built a 12 inch tall insulated cover for it, mounted a reefer unit on it, I hauled swinging shrimp from the ga coast to hunts point , made 12 rounds a week and still had weekends off. had a fast truck, in fact the truck was so fast, that back when I hauled live cows we had to put googles on the cattle to keep from blowing their eyeballs out. if ya need me I will be at the coffee counter.
Jumbo, Passin Thru, MJ1657 and 1 other person Thank this. -
Onion haulers!

I had my photos posted here for a long time from Lilly Trucking and all the reefers are climate control for the suction rolls and print rolls that are covered in a rubber like coating. They are required to be kept at certain temps to prevent shrinking or cracking. Depends on the coating and the temperatures, some are costly to recover and can be upward of well over 1 million to re coat.
Those would have been a Lilly truck you seen in Augusta Georgia
