    I'm sincerely seeking information. I have 8 years experience before 2007. I am returning to driving. I need work. My wife is also completing a nine week CDL course with me so we can work together. We need to work. We get approved by a company. Then I do a little research and find some kind of complaint online about the company. I don't want to keep walking if the bridge is out but my God, are all the companies bad? I'm not looking for the perfect job, or to be home every weekend, or tens of thousands of dollars a week, or nine-to-five hours, or the latest equipment, gizmos, and gadgets,...I just need to make a living and pay my bills. How do you tell the difference between legitimate complaints and complainers on these sites?
    Sincerely;
    Help

    Where do you live. That would be a big help in helping you.

    Human nature means we are more likely to post about bad experiences and complain about something more than taking the time to post about something good. In your 8 years experience before 2007 you must have an idea who the happy drivers were driving for. I would spend more time on the 'Favorite Trucking Company' board than on this one. I would also look at the time someone has been at the company they are writing about. What type of trailer do you plan to pull, reefer, dry, flat?
    If reviewing the bad company posts I would read between the lines and see which companies are not being talked about.

    Here are a few that drivers I speak with seem happy;

    TMC
    Roehl
    Con-Way
    Wal-Mart
    Maverick
    MCT
    Schneider
    JCT
    Landstar

    I can pull most all but my specialty was dry van, tanker, and long dump. I'm not shy about work and neither is she. We've been through lay-offs. Just had to short sell our home due to it's locale and our emergency. We had saved for a rainy day. But it just kept raining. Work is the word for the day. Need work. Thanks for all your input and help...and prayers!!!

    One of the biggest reasons you don't see many comments on good companies... Because everytime you post one 15 other drivers who didn't like it or didn't do there job and got fired jump all over you and tell you how wrong you are.

    Seems that the good Lord may be answering prayers. was in touch with a company this weekend and it seems their good reputation precedes them so we probably have found our home.

    Well there seem to be two types of complaints specific and general.

    I tend to consider specific complaints much more reasonable. Like if a company has no one working on sunday in the office but trucks are working on sunday. Or this company only allows you to fuel at wilco-hess.

    I basically ignore general ones like "i am not getting enough miles" or grocery warehouses are slow. Both could be true but for example slow warehouses are par for the course for reefer drivers you cant really blame a company for it, it kinda falls on you for continuing to drive a reefer.

    In spite of my experience prior to 07 (I went into transportation, safety, and driver training). My wife is a multiple laid-off payroll specialist and industrial and forestry office manager, and compliance manager. Her jobs were outsourced. She is also completing the CDL course, is doing well, and will graduate next week. We want to work together. Any companies who will allow me to serve as her trainer or that will train us together? I have massive safety accomplishments. Any suggestions? Again, thanks
