You tore a trl door off in Chicago,I tore a trailer door off in downtown kansas city.So youre not the only one, lol.Only the company I was at does'nt use dac so its not on there. But i did pay for it.So most of us had accidents. Its not the end of the world.Companies have been known to hire drivers with alot worse marks then you have.
Markus Thanks this. -
U are on a better stance than the drivers busted for dui or drugs apply thru wideturns.com and see who bites. The tiltle of your thread is quite ironic being that you actually are tearing pieces off the truck(s) best and honest solution is to stop hitting ####. Good luck driver.

I hate to be the bad guy but........I gotta say something about you comment about "tired and bummed out". What if it had been a pedestrian instead of a truck grill? If you are too tired to get out on look at what you are doing, then maybe this is not the career for you.
OK, enough of being the bad guy. If you can find another job, you must be 110% alert and paranoid all of the time, no matter how tired, bummed out, bad weather, or pink elephants!bigkev1115 and HwyPrsnr Thank this. -
Well. That depends on the Pedestrian. If it was my Ex Mother in law, then that would be a good thing..
I did not just say that,did i.?.

Call Superior Truck lines!! 315-597-5102
They have a terminal in Port Gibson, NY and have local positions and regional runs available
I have a "friend" who worked there before getting onto an account with JB Hunt and he liked it. They hire experienced to new driving school graduates and are a small to medium sized company. They had a bad rep about 3 years ago but now under newer management with new trucks coming in.
Here's an old thread about them and if you notice near the end of the thread it actually starts to turn positive

First good luck! I hope you find another job.
2nd get yourself a pocket truckstop guide, use it! Post it notes with the exit numbers of the farthest t/s you could make it to and a couple in 50 mile increments backwards, so that if you are getting tired you don't have to guess, you know. Don't discount the small t/s's, we have passed quiet a few at late hrs with little truck traffic and "lots" of easy parking left. The "big" name t/s's tend to fill up first and aren't really any better and often are harder to park, even half empty.
If (when) you get another job, practice those harder back ins when you are not tired. Run earlier times when possible. My husband does that, we start our day at 3 or 4, 5 is the latest unless like today/tomorrow where we can't pick up til 1pm.
Practice those back ins, treat it like the very last parking spot in your last 15 minutes (recycle the 15 though) of dot time. That space has two pretty chromed out Petes on either side, with two guys that love their trucks. Doesn't even matter if every space in the t/s is empty, even the pull throughs, practice those hard back-ins when you aren't tired. You don't get experience with out doing. DO!
I watched a driver put a big ole Pete pulling a flatbed into a space 8 other drivers gave up on, she put that spread axel flatbed into that space in half the time it took the others to just give up. Experience.
When my hubby is tired he does the pull throughs at a t/s or rest area, because I prefer to be near a grassy area for the dogs, he backs into a errrr space near the back, tends to be where the grass is, most of the time. Thats also why I prefer the smaller T/S's, plus the food is often better. Don't discount weigh stations with overnight parking.
Again good luck, don't give up.MoGooder Thanks this. -
As a Jag lover that sir is inexcusable.
Markus can you explain the tight backing situation in Chicago that tore the trailer door off? I don't think your driving days are over. It's not like you rolled a truck or can opened a trailer on a low viaduct.
