Yeah, I know about the ones in the central valley. I live there.
I am specifically looking in the So Bay Area.
Not going anywhere near oakland.
If i do, I can just park at the Alameda naval base. lol
Home Depot might be my only real choice, if there is room.
That sunnyvale option might work.
Not too far away.
Hopefully dispatch will have something for me and I won't have to hang around.
Overnight parking in the Bay Area. Where?

I see it now, your from Modesto, you know where you are... I used to live in Milpitas , Monterey, Livermore, for a while many years back, don't remember ever seeing any truck stops over that way. Nothing but traffic and congestion.. This state sucks anymore. Used to be a decent state...

Flying J in Lodi CA. Located off Interstate 5, at intersection of Highway 12 (Kettleman Lane), Lodi, CA. Not in South bay. Closer to Central Valley. They have Denny's and Subway. Nice truck stop, and very clean. Numerous fast food joints across street, as well as hotel accommodation and gas stations. The parking lot does tend to fill up kind-of early. If you can't find a space, there is a Flag City truck stop down street and on-street parking in area. There's a few bums, but they keep to the off-ramps and don't bother people or vigorously pan handle. If on Highway 99, you can take Kettleman Lane exit to jump over to Interstate 5. Flying J is on corner just before on-ramp to I-5.
Geno's in Livermore is gone. They bulldozed it earlier this year. Started building something else there, but I can't remember what?jet460 Thanks this. -
If I remember correctly, the SF Oakland T/S used to be a 76 many years ago. Was a really bad place to park back then. Nothing more than a fuel center with shower and laundry in 1 building and a dive restaurant in another. Not to mention the stripped down trucks parked in the very back of the parking lot behind the buildings. Dont even think about that place. Be safe out there drivers.

There's a mall right behind Home Depot as well. One truck parked out in a vacant area of the lot. Might be worth a try.

Coming in from Sacramento, I usually sleep at the rest stop on I-80 in Vallejo, just east of 37.
That way, I am just a little closer to those 6:00 am deliveries in San Jose, or wherever. -
There is parking for a 10 off some of the freeway exits, like off the 680 north of Milipitas, where you have cloverleafs with large dirt areas. Get on Google Maps and zoom in, you will see truck tire marks in the hard packed sand in those areas. I've parked a time or two in them without any problems. I agree that the Bay Area in general is a huge problem for parking. You have to know the wide spots off exits or country roads, and sometimes it requires being early to get a parking spot in those places.

I know of one..... but I'm very reluctant to tell.....
Afraid that if too many people park there they'll change their mind. Hell. Maybe they have already.
So.... fine. Hopefully not too many people will read this thread. There's a Walmart on "Hegenberger" street off I-880 in San Leandro. Exit 36 on my map here. You can see the store from the freeway. That Walmart allows trucks to park in its lot. Or at least it did when I was there last December. I have no idea whether they changed their policy since then or not. However I walked up to the security guard and asked him if I could park there and he said it was fine. Other trucks were parked there too.
There's also one of those truck stops that doesn't have parking a mile from there, in case you need fuel or something. Can't recall what it's called, but it has a certified scale and fuel.
And if they have changed their policy.... some of the streets behind that Walmart have wide enough margins that you can park a truck there. I went walking back there the same evening and saw a couple of trucks parked. Not sure if it was legal for them to be there or not. -
I do my overnight parking sitting in traffic to the bay bridge into San Fran

Love's should buy the empty Solyndra building and put a truck stop there. I bet they could get it for less than it costs to build a website. :/
