Had a guy try to get a free shower on me today.

I give out quiet a few of our showers, I get our fuel receipt from the kiosk and get asked about showers alot, as we can only fuel at P/FJ's, we rack up alot their. We tend to stay at smaller t/s's so often either pay their or take a quick shower/fuel break mid day at the P/FJ.

We have heen given showers at Petro's or T/A's, we will get credits their that can be used to buy a shower, its nice that other drivers are that thoughtful.

I won't give out money, but I do keep packaged food that needs no heating, that I will give out, if someone says they are hungry. I even keep a baggie of dog food, cause I had someone ask, while I was walking my dogs. He didn't ask for himself, but I gave him some dogfood, people food and a shower. Didn't hurt us and he really needed it.

 

I fuel a lot cuz our trks get bad mpg lol. So if someone ask ill give them a shower. I've given showers away and also got one before.

 

Yes, I give the shower out frequently. Cost me nothing to be polite and help someone else out.

 

I have given showers away before and have received a few also, not from asking but just because another hand would not be using it. Its the norm and just something we do from time to time. Its just the comfort of knowing what we go thru out here. I have even popped for a meal to a newbie who had ran thru his advances and was broke from buying stuff for his truck and other stuff. It was well worth it because I had a great conversation with the kid over dinner and learned that he was not taught much about the everyday life on the road from his trainer. that sucks! He was with CRST.

 

I always have 8-10 on my card as I never use them. I'd give them away but I've never been approached. There have been a few drivers I thought about offering them up to tho.

last night this happend to me in houston at the loves a guy asked me if he could get one of my showers and normally i would say sure but we do all our fueling at pilot/flying j's so i had to pay for my loves shower out of pocket (so i thought) i finished my shower handed over the key and was ready to hand over some cash and some how the lady made a mistake and handed me paid shower reciept said "ur all set hand have a nice night" makes me wonder who paid for the shower or if she really did make a mistake

 

There are just too many people walking around that need a shower and won't take one. If I can do anything to lessen that hygienic problem with little effort on my part, I will do it. Letting someone use my credits when I don't need them is a mighty small sacrifice.

 

I actually felt bad one time I didn't have a credit to give to a guy (he caught me coming out, not going in). I even offered to buy the shower but he just said no need, he would catch somebody coming in solo and ask if they could do a team shower (seperately I assume )
