    Being a trainer...a GOOD trainer, takes a lot of patience and hard work. Not everyone is cut out for it and even those that are good will tell you they have to take some time off to themselves every so often. For me it was about every third to fourth student. Then I'd take a couple weeks running solo. I commend those that decide it's not for them and don't just run thru the motions for the sake of some extra miles.

    OK folks...here's the quote of the week.
    G1 student called in for a verbal trip plan. I explained to her that on nights and weekends there just wasn't anyone there that had the time to do the trip plans so she needed to put hers together and send it in on the QC. Someone would get to it and if we saw anything needing correcting, we'd call.
    She responded, "I gotta do my own trip plans?! I don't do trip plans. I'm just going to quit!"

    Well here I am sitting on the yard with my busted APU wonder if I will get busted idling to cool my truck off/ On a bright note, I was able to clear most my stuff today just gotta see Dr feelgood tommorow and wait for my truck to be done with the DPF campaign. Maybe just maybe I might get out of here tommorow or Saturday morning. Woot. Emu where the hell are ya when your needed at the window lol/

    I'm sitting here in Sunnyvale with an adult beverage reading a letter from a recruiter. This is not a form email blast, it's a personal letter asking me to come see them.
    Home almost every night,/weekend, paid vacation,medical/dental, holidays. $15 for every stop, $20/hr waiting, fueling. Paper logs.
    Guarantee 1,500 per week.
    If I imbibe enough, I may call out of curiousity as to why they're contacting me.
    Too bad my driving days are over.

    HAH! himself would attempt to send his trip plans in the way he was told to, but always ended up just QC'ing them and hitting the road. The trip plan he did for coming home this last time managed to get someone on the horn to discuss... they said to him that he is supposed to trip plan for 50mph, did he realize that? he said well yeah, but why lie?

    Had a nice stay at the Orleans. Saw a couple of movies, went to the comedy club and gambled a bit. I got back to the room yesterday and found two messages from my dm. They wanted to set up a repower. My PTA was set for this am at 1000. It was after six when I got the messages, so I figured they worked something else out. So just before one am I get a call from the other driver asking when I'm showing up. I assure him I never agreed to repower him. Then I get a call at 0530 from dispatch asking if I'm still going to do the repower? Well, you woke me up, but my PTA is at 1000. I can run over then. Nobody seems to know why this was set up without confirmation. So now I'm waiting on dispatch.
