You had an accident with another truck that resulted in 2 fatalities?! And you blame your steers?! Ever hear of FOLLOWING DISTANCE?
Bills can wait. I couldn't pay my bills for 7 months. I know how hard times can be. I was living on the streets of Dallas before I managed to get a ride back to NJ. And yes, "real" money with Swift. Swift is a company where you make more money the longer you're with them. Both my mentors make over 100k/yr. It takes TIME AND PATIENCE; something you don't have apparently.
Keep doing what you're doing and you won't ever make the money you would if you just paid your dues.

think he was referring to a jb hunt driver that crashed not him. i agree with the rest of your post

If that's the case, I retract my statement!
There are many trucks on the road that shouldn't be, but someone once told me it doesnt matter the condition of the equipment so long as the operator knows how it likes to be handled. I don't completely agree with that statement, but can see how it works.Last edited: May 10, 2013

Wow why would you leave a ##### company, to go to another ##### company. What you should do is stay with swift for a year. Get your year experience and get out. Then a whole new world open for you. Your first year is going to be ######. It's experience experience you need.

I do not believe for ONE second that anything was wrong with the tires!! This guy is one of the noob's who thinks they know it all
Who are you to say the tires are bad?? I wasted my time and read the last 100 vehicle violations for Swift and NOT ONE was for tires on a tractor!! ZERO!! -
dptrucker,
The junk I am refering to has nothing to do with equipment although I'm sure that would play a role with some. I am talking the compensation. Who would drive for mileage pay only to not get paid for every mile they drive? Who would drive for only mileage pay when all other on duty time is given to the company for free? That is what I consider to be a junk OTR company and that is only for starters. If your company falls into that catagory, so be it. You chose to work there.

Good luck. lets hope we don't see any posts from you on how bad they are. I truly mean that.

what otr company pays all miles? what otr company pays for on duty not driving time? most companies will pay detention pay if at stop for more than 2 ours. layover pay is paid after 24 hrs. same with breakdown. this doesn't just apply with swift or any other starter company. so unless you get paid by the hour this is what it is. actually got a letter from some attorney where someone is trying to start a class action against swift for all the non paying time. all companies should in lawsuit but most drivers won't stick together unless they are union. so you get what you get. not going to debate on low pay due to everyine knows what swift pays before they sign on. i get .36/mile due to my experience.so i'm no rookie. and yes, this is my choice to join swift and you don't see me complaining. well, except for pay... i'll never make enough money lolcustomtanks Thanks this.
