So recently I saw a truck driver hauling a shipping container with a military escort.Im wondering if any of you have ever seen or heard of this?Is there any good money in it and is there like some sort of company that hires this kind of hauling?

    There are several....

    Tristate Motor
    Baggett
    R & R Transport

    There are several more.....

Had a truck leased to Tristate several years ago doing this....made good money but you roll....There have been alot of carriers to get into and out of this line of work...I have no idea how the rates are doing this now...but it is a pain in the butt sometimes!

I see them on I-80 often. Tinted windows, no company name, no DOT number, only Federal plates. Usually there are 4-5 security F-450's within a few miles of the truck.

@the bird.Yes! thats exactly what im talking about!kinda creeped me out when I first saw it....but it I have heard that they literally dont let you stop for security reasons.which i suppose is why so many of those companies have team drivers.

Wife and I hauled loads to Loomis, Wells Fargo, and a bunch of other places. We never truly know what we were hauling, and were told from the start most of the time we would be hauling dummy loads. Some times we had escorts, but they fit in much better than the ones they use now.
It would be so fun to back inside of a warehouse to dock. Nothing like when you pass the outer doors and see someone with a shot gun standing there. All the stuff I hauled was "no see".

We did some hauling for the military and 3 letter agencies. There would always be a lack of communication between the shipper, receiver, and mostly the guard shacks. It would be so nice to show up at there guard shack with HAZMAT placards and watch the place freak out or go on shut down.
The times have changed and everything goes much better. Dose anyone know what security clearance they getting for these loads now?

I would never haul anything for the government and don't care how much it pays. I won't do anything to aid tyranny.

I saw a semi with a 20 foot container and 20 hummers following it. Heard through the cb radio that they were transporting the Presidents teleprompter!

hauled one load like that YEARS ago. Had two escorts and one trail vehicle. didn't really stop for anything. They led, I followed. That was my instructions. They parked me, they got me up. Really made it easy to do the log book that week. I got paid good money that week, but don't remember the exact amount. Just know that I had a really good month. I wasn't even allowed around the truck when it was loaded. So I can't say how many times it had a forklift drive in or out. I backed it up to a dock, was asked (escorted) to a waiting room and taken back when I was told it was ready to go. Pulled ahead enough to close the doors, they closed and sealed them. Same thing unloading.

We never even stopped at truck stops for fuel. It was all pre-arranged. THAT I felt was the scariest. Not sure why. Just seemed weird. Stopped at a lot of army camps along the way. Went from GA to OK.

I have hauled restricted loads and still do, but honestly the agreement I signed states I can not discuss anything about it.
