and i have drove for crst and both time my 2 seat quit on me and left me sitting i could not move the truck without a team member i sat in miami for 7 days waiting for them to find me a co driver and when they could not find me one they put a team from miami in my truck and sent a other team to pick me up and bring me to nc so if u dont have a team member to drive with they could send you home look into it more and ask a lot of ? about when you get your own truck i mess up and did not ask enough ? to find out whats was what thats on me i hope this helps

me too it sounds crazy but i do miss it lol never a dull moment out there on the open road
newbietrucker007 Thanks this. -
we don't sit around. if a 2nd seat quits, the load gets repowered and you become a solo driver. if you are a trainee, you either get a ride with another driver or get a dirty dog ticket to springfield missouri.Rollr4872, lil chow and newbietrucker007 Thank this.

well i would have not minded to go solo i kinda got burn out on team driving for the fear that my co driver would jump again cause he did not like the otr part of the job

I am considering applying at Prime for my CDL training. I am 25 no criminal record or traffic accidents or tickets of any kind and solid work history. I am currently a server, but I am looking to get out of the service industry so I don't have to rely on tips for my income. I am just nervous about quitting a steady job for something I guess that isn't a sure thing. Was looking for input from others and see how the transition went for them.

It's not a sure thing... you might hate driving a truck. OTOH, how hard is it to secure another job as a server if things don't work out?
-
Well, if you leave on good terms, chances are good that your old job will rehire you. When I had to go home after orientation to get some medical paperwork straightened out, I gave my old boss a call and asked her if I could come back. She asked me how soon I could pick up a shift...

jbrewer its is hard out there at times long hrs sitting for loads and unloading just to name a few things but once you start you may find out u like it when u get out there u will never know untill u try but the road is hard and long and sometimes a lonely place to b but along the way i have had privilege of meeting some great folks a long the way

okay but would be a wise move to just go ahead and get my cdl here in NC rather than be a newbie with a company like prime? thats the question that bother me.
