Pricing up an inframe.
Average costs involved?
Anything else to replace?
Motor has @500k on it, but an oil leak that MAY be a HG.
Will get heads checked an surfaced too.
Doable at my own shop? anything special needed?

There was / is a update head gasket ? It's o post to cure the head gasket issues. Check for rust in the EGR tube. Spells a leak , before it shows normal ways.
-
EGR tube is there for show, but have a spare one too.
New HG's are on it already IIRC.
Have a small oil leak on turbo side of motor, but with the exhaust manifold gasket being like it is, and the EGR cooler in the way, impossible to tell what is leaking at thge moment!

@leftlanetruckin...Pricing up an inframe
We priced in-frame at Stoops in Indianapolis back in 2012 when we bought our '05 Columbia and they quoted us $18k -$19k w/o warranty, just saying.
-
Yea what in frame kit though? I was quoted $24 with a 4 year unlimited milage replacing everything but the front and rear seals. That included new head, turbo, compressor, whole nine yards. If I'm going to drop 18 or 19 might as well step it up and do a little more. Another cost factor is fuel milage even .1mpg over a year can pay for an overhaul on 100k a year in just fuel savings. Ugh...here I am replying to an overhaul thread and Im scared to death at how my next oil sample is going to come back.
-
Local dealer is saying @$15k, so no go there IMHO.

I'm beginning to wonder why they didn't call trucks boats and boats trucks...because in trucking it always seems like we have to Bust Out Another Thousand.
-
I'd be happy if it was just a thousand....
